    Davis looked good last night.

lakers are going to need 35 mins a night for 70 games from AD/LBJ to be in the playoff hunt unless they find a way to build that bench out.

Jak, McBooger and JRich could give them an immediate bump but would still be an LBJ/AD injury away from

    flaming out.
They’re not gonna last the entire season. Klay was discussing with the TNT guys how lucky they are having fresh blood that will make it possible for them to have long careers not having to carry the team through 82 games every year. Yeah, I expect either LeBron or Davis to be injury prone with heavy iso and logging minutes. Nothing I hate more than Dubs Curry and Co to match Timmy ring count. But who else will come out from the West? Denver with Murray back? Hopefully.

I guess the Lakers have been listening to Stephen Jackson and thought we were holding lonnie back so they started him for 30 minutes. I guess they found out.

As if Lonnie was going to get any offense going.

This Lakers team reminds of the Aldridge-DeRozan era Spurs, only James-Davis are obviously in a different universe from them.

They're trying to play a more modern rotation, but they have no sizable two-way role players.

Yet somehow AD was forced onto the Top 75 list (ESPN. Eye roll.).

Folks'll look back and wonder who this guy was.
He's easily a top 75 player of all-time, but obviously was never going to seriously challenge Duncan.

Still, he had (has?) a shot at ending up in the Malone, Garnett, Nowitzki, Barkley tier.

Didn't watch the game, but it seems like he did a lot of good things. If one of those threes had gone down, he would've had a good stat line. But I am having a hard time accepting that a lineup with him as the small-forward and two short guards is a long-term solution. The Lakers are going to eventually have to cave and make some kind of trade. That might mean Westbrook, but it might also mean cobbling together whatever salary they have to get role-players. Unfortunately for Lonnie, his salary might well be part of that process after 12/15.
He’s on a one year contract, so any trade has to have his blessing.

That was only because he was putting up historical PER on that horrible NO team. It highlights how good players look like great players when they are on bad teams as they get to stat stuff. The really great players carry their teams to better records, especially in the regular season. In the playoffs, even the greatest players need a great team around them to succeed.

Nah. That's only if he would have early Bird or Bird rights after the contract ends. He'd only have non-Bird rights. He can't block a trade.

Which makes what he did all the more impressive. Unlike S bag's affluenza ass, Davis didn't get to join a dynasty in progress. Instead, he had a carry a moribund franchise, yet still posted historic efficiency with bad - mediocre, chronically injured talent surrounding him.

Save for James, the only others who might have been able to squeeze more out of that team at that time were Durant and Harden.

I meant the great players carry their teams to respectable regular season records. That’s why I’m not that sold on a guy like Mitc .

Lonnie is actually playing well with 12 pts in 15 mins in the 2nd quarter. I think the Laker fans are awed with his athleticism and might be in a very good situation tbh. A starter for the Lakers?

Yeah like he didn't have games like this for us occasionally. He's not a terrible player his problem is his low bbiq and terrible consistency. He'll definitely have games where he looks really good though here and there

Except with the Lakers he's actually encouraged to pump his fist for that entertainment factor. It's like a circus, and Laker fans are entertained.

That's not true. Can't hold everyone to the same standards of Abdul-Jabbar, Bird, Johnson, Jordan, O'Neal, Duncan, James, etc., who mostly had decent or better teams surrounding them.

He's looking good and probably the reason they're close with LAC. If he keeps things simple he should be good for the Lakers.

Are you serious? Most of these old fogies had no business making it, the media just lacked the intestinal for ude to remove them because of perceived disrespect.

Among current players, he has as good a case as S bag and they both have better cases than Lillard, Westbrook and Anthony.
