It's not a downplay to suggest that this could have been handled with a 'suspension' or sending him to a program for personal reasons for even up to the end of the season. If there's no serious charges ... This probably could have been handled better if only to preserve the asset.
Celtics haven't even fired udoka and there's smoke that he was up to some worse things in their very own workplace.
If they cared about Primo and his future then getting him help from a real program should have been first, then the cut. His statement doesn't exactly reflect a belligerent at ude towards everything so I doubt he refused any other course of action and dared Pop to cut him.

Sounds like the right move. Primo's supposed best attribute was his supposed elite character and his willingness to learn and improve. Take that away and all you have is an unathletic scrub who can't dribble or pass.

Not sure how serious the Minni hotel rumors are but if it has legs I suspect there could be at least misdemeanor assault charges coming.
What value did he have that could be preserved after this? Suspend him, allow him to get treatment, tolerate that he’s recovered from being a sexual predator, then play him a year later to up his value? At some point, you have to draw a line and see things for what it is. It would have been a waste of developmental time for a chance his value would come back to normal. The Spurs don’t need to try to profit from assholes.
