The tank for the Wember is strong….
Keep him in G league don't mess with our Tanking
Damn, was hoping to see him. Hope they don’t panic and sign a PG vet
Sucks. But he escaped a major injury. I thought it was an ACL tear. Still sucks but happy it wasn’t that.
I see we need a backup PG. We already have one, just waiting to be snapped up.
He goes by the name “Brodie”
Do not need luck to most keeping in pants
We need the #1 pick on the draft
How bad is an MCL injury? Is he going to lose any athleticism? Will this heal OK? Does it need surgery?
That would guarantee that top 4 pick so many people are craving.
But then we would have to cheer for Westbrook![]()
not only are there tons of PGs on this site, there are also tons of coaches and GMs.
And self-appointed advocates and PR staff as well.
To everyone worried about Westbrook playing here:
Westbrook would never play one minute here. They would explore a buyout, but would release him regardless. The salary is immaterial, since we are way below the cap, and would have to pay out to the players to hit minimum salary anyway.
Horrible timing for Blake but it’s a long season. More minutes for other youngins.
Actually this team may be kind of the ideal destination for Westbrook: devoid of a PG, with plenty of shooters and team oriented players around. But yeah, rehabilitating his career is not a priority, if he ends up a Spur I don't expect him to play one minute, he's not someone you want your youngsters to look up to.
Bummer timing for Blake.
He will still get a lot of run later in the season as a backup PG but this time RIGHT NOW would have been gold for him.
Crazy to think that Westbrook would look much better with the Spurs, but he would.
He needs shooting around him to unlock whatever game he has left.
Still not worth giving him any playing time of course... hahahha
I agree with Ice. I'd like to see this question answered, if anyone has an idea about if it will affect his athleticism. Thanks.
When it comes to knee injuries, a torn MCL is regarded as relatively minor. ACL, LCL and PCL tears would all be worse. Cartilage/meniscus damage is worse. Patella or patellar tendon damage is worse. A torn MCL is pretty bad but it usually doesn't require surgery and is rarely career threatening or career altering. Athletes are basically cleared to play once the stability of the knee is sufficient and pain has subsided. You can even play through a torn MCL (IIRC, Tom Brady and Dwight Howard played through torn MCLs) if you wear a brace and can deal with the pain.
With the way Wesley went down, an MCL injury is one of the better outcomes. Still bad and sometimes it can linger but far from the worse. The Spurs might sit Wesley for the rest of the season since he's so young and so dependant on his elite athleticism just to play it safe -- but chances are he'll be back at some point in January.
Many thanks!I know they'll be cautious, but hope to see him again this season.
I knew it was bad when someone posted that IG story yesterday but this is definitely best case scenario after that.
