What exactly does Blake need to change in his shooting form?

This turned out to be 5,300+ words
I'm considering writing a new progress reports every 12 games or so if there is enough interest. It's a big-picture look at how the players are developing. I tried to be fair in pointing out strengths and weaknesses.
What exactly does Blake need to change in his shooting form?
This would be most welcome, and thanks for the writeup!
Nicely done Timvp - Always like reading your articles
Great article TimVP , I enjoyed reading it.
It's very helpful for us and helps those of us that miss some games due to not having it on our programs like YouTubeTV.
Thank you!
Good read, thanks!
It's erratic. He never shoots the same way twice.
Great article.
I'm still not "thrilled" by Sochan as our lottery pick but pray that God will prove me wrong.![]()
You Won't get finished products with high upside in the draft anymore. So the fact that his floor is high and his shot could be fixed make him very appealing.
Who were the prospects with obvious higher potential drafted after him? IMO, there weren't, if you consider age and fit he was a very good choice at that spot.
That'd be great. This is the perfect season for it.
Thanks Timvp. I haven’t yet finished reading the entire magnum opus, but seemingly full of positivities. I agree so far with the assessment. I’ve enjoyed very much the motion offense that they exhibited earlier, posting the highest assists in the league, which I’m hoping they continue to improve. My favorite player is still Devin because of the variety of ways he can score and a potential to be a better defender. Pop gave Kawhi Kobe tapes to watch. I hope he does with Devin too. The kid is just a smooth scorer. My next favorite is Sochan as a passing big man. I hope Pop can make him rimrun for some transition offense, different his passing and facilitating ala Bobo. I can’t wait for Blake to get back. He’s someone everybody can’t wait to see more.
Anyways, with so much positive feedbacks, are the Spurs destined for play-in?
Bucks broadcast was saying that Vassell models his game after Penny Hardaway
, we’ll never get out of the first round.
Penny was going to be real good until his acl injury and more. But he was a PG. Was Devin even born then?![]()
Heard Sean say he moves like Latrell Sprewell
Penny made the finals in 95 and the conference finals in 96
that's definitely a better comparison, but Marques Johnson from the Bucks broadcast said that turnaround stepback is a Penny Hardaway move and he asked Vassell about it. Devin immediately brought it up too
Devin to me is more similar to Alan Houston the way he plays.
That's a good one, tbh.
I don't like the Sprewell comp because Sprewell was super athletic and super wild when he was young. Penny is a little bit of a better comp due to how he scored in halfcourt sets but he was a natural point guard -- and Devin isn't close to that.
Houston is good though. High release point. Footwork specialist. Not a great athlete but solidly built. Not a point guard but able to run pick-and-rolls. Main differences are Houston was stronger and more coordinated and Devin can be a much better defender ... but, yeah, that's the best optimized Devin comp I've seen yet![]()
Great content! I look forward to every article.
Thanks for the great progress report. Would love to see these every 8th of the season or so.
One question: you noted Keldon is averaging 34 mpg. Perhaps my vantage point is skewed by years of load management on our aging Big 3, but does this seem like a high number? Can Keldon maintain with that high a workload over an entire season? He’s young, energetic and in great shape… but I would have some concerns about sustainability.
