Texas is indeed the hardest State to cast a vote in.

I think you are missing some key points. If the Dems are going to win in TX in the near future, they are going to need every vote they can get, because any win they get will be razor thin, not a landslide. Hence, they should appeal to those in the middle. It's far easier to pick off votes from independents, moderates, and libertarians than to try and win over established Republicans. The far left is already going to vote Dem, so why bother pandering to them? They aren't going to be the difference maker.

They needed to run a candidate that doesn't take extreme views- one that won't alienate those in the middle. They failed to do so. Hence an "unforced error" and another Abbott victory.
With California and New York solid blue, there’s no rush. Dems also need a boogeyman to point fingers to, and the current Texas Christian-Taliban leadership fills that role exceptionally well.

Democrats have other problems they need to shore up, like running some terrible candidates like Shillary and even Brandon, but demographics are simply in their favor longer term….

It’s possible they’re no longer the absolute worst now that other states have restricted voting further, but definitely top 5, and were top 1 before 2020 (I shared a study about that before the election, IIRC).

I agree, it would be a surprise if they didn't take control of the House, at least. I'm about 99% sure that's going to happen. The real question this point is whether the Republicans will just barely win the House and hold a slim majority, or if it's going to be a blood bath for the Dems.
Didn’t they call a ‘red wave’ Obama’s first midterm? What happened afterwards?
Lots of hype in this thing…

In 2010, we were 2+ years into an economic recovery. Today, inflation is at it's highest level in decades with no end in sight- that's the kind of thing everyone, even those who normally pay no attention to politics, take notice of, and they are going to want to blame someone. The Dems control the White House, the US House, and effectively control the Senate. They are in complete charge, and things aren't going well, so they are likely to pay a heavy price when things are going poorly in the economy. When even folks who have jobs and have always been responsible find themselves unable to feed and cloth their kids, or have to take an additional job in order to do so, they can get a bit cranky. And a cranky electorate doesn't bode well for the party in charge.

Also, I have a hunch (and it's just that, so I may be wrong) based on what I hear on a day to day basis that a lot of those same folks who are normally don't give a damn about politics, especially people those with kids, are more than a bit disconcerted by some of the extreme social policies being pushed by the far left elements of the Dem Party- whether it be "defund the police" or the seemingly excessive (obsessive?) focus on things like transgender politics. As I alluded to before, Dems in Texas aren't the same as Dems in Massachusetts- they tend to be a lot more religious/socially conservative and may not take kindly to some of the stuff that northeastern liberals love so much.

BTW, the GOP winning control of Congress is the expected outcome on a first term midterm election (happened to almost every president, including Obama and Trump, to name a few popular presidents). What would be embarrassing is if they don’t win.
the possibility the GOP will NOT win back the majority in the House is not very great, but it's not impossible. The Rs may not get as many seats as they'd hoped.

Everyone suffers when inflation causes the prices of everything we buy to rise. Those at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder suffer the most.

Like TX's beloved sales taxes, inflation is horribly, punitively regressive

If I make the statement that "everyone suffers when inflation cause the prices of everything we buy to rise," you should be able to connect the dots, as I am included in "everyone."

Do I need to type more slowly so you can keep up?

Sales tax certainly affects the poor more than the rich.

Another tax that kills the working class is the tax on gasoline. To a well paid professional, that 20 cents per gallon is just a minor annoyance, but to people just getting by, it's a brutal tax. I've never understood why Democrats love gasoline taxes so much, when they hurt poor people the most. Aren't Democrats supposed to be standing up for the poor and working class?

That's not a yes or no.

Just say you're personally suffering in this economy without trying to drag other people you know nothing about into it.

I dare your ego to say it.

As I said, we all suffer when inflation is out of control, even those of us who are multimillionaires. I'm not sure why you can't understand this- is English a second language for you?

Whether it's completely out of control or moderately out of control, I'm sure Beto will fix it when he pushes Biden aside and becomes President in 2025!

If we go by the last few administrations, you want Democrats fixing all the GOP economic ups, tbh...
