i dont know if you missed it, but there was a big twitter thread. an exclusive given to this guy named Matt Taibbi where twitter released their information on what went down with the NYP hunter biden story
there were basically 2 angles to the story
1) that there is and has been a direct line from campaigns and government bodies to basically flag tweets for twitter to to decide whether to take action on. taibbi noted that this happened both with the biden campaign as well as with the trump white house. as an example of this, he shared an internal twitter email where they said "here are some things the biden campaign flagged for us to look at" with like 4 or 5 links to tweets. upon examination with the wayback machine, these were basically all picks or nudes.
this is also the part people are talking about in regards to "the government (or campaigns) are causing twitter to censor their opponents!!". because they have a more streamlined route to flag stuff than an average user just hitting the "report tweet" button and hoping something happens. but all the examples that were provided of this... were picks. so this is why people in this thread are discussing picks. its one of the 2 major legs of the story
2) the other leg of the story is the actual censorship of the NYP article. Taibbi EXPLICITLY says that he has no evidence or indication that there was any outside/government direction re: how twitter was supposed to handle the laptop story. instead he basically chronicled how twitter staff (though basically leaving out and borderline exonerating Jack himself) fumbled the ball, put the cart before the horse, and treated the entire NYP story as being against their "hacked material" policy even though there was no formal determination that the materials were hacked, but merely on the basis that they could not confirm whether or not it was hacked (if this seems shaky, its because it is), and basically nobody in the chain knew how to undo their up of blocking the story.
everybody, including jack himself over 2 years ago now, have owned that twitter botched its handling of the NYP story. but this isnt tied to the whole "political players using twitter to silence opponents" thing because taibbi himself said there was no evidence that this happened re: the laptop story

Yes. He claims picks were removed from twitter and in some cases were removed after first having been flagged by members of the Biden campaign. People have been super upset that Twitter allows political en ies like campaigns to have a direct line to them to flag tweets for removal. In this case they were all picks. So people are upset that at the Biden campaigns request, picks were removed
