Don’t really give a about soccer tbh, (though I do root for Man U from a distance just cause I liked them on FIFA back in the day) but watched that game since I’m off today. The end was pretty exciting, but goddamn the official in this match was horrendous. Don’t have a dog in the fight so idc, but if I’m a Netherlands fan I’d be pretty heated. Pretty one-sided officiating tbh. Was pretty obvious they were trying to push Argentina through, which only makes sense. They want Messi vs Ronaldo on the Final like they wanted Lakers in the Finals in 2002 tbh. And I’m sure they’ll try to make sure it happens.
Dude, the ref added 10 minutes of injury time, and they tied even past those 10... that never happens. The game was done. Argentina shouldn't even have had to go though 30' extra to advance.
If I'm Netherlands fan I thank the ref & the Gods for allowing them extra chances they should have never had.
Netherlands ended up where they belonged, which is out of the WC because they were the lesser team today. But this will cost Argentina in the next couple of matches, like it always does. It was a pyrrhic victory, I'm afraid.

If the ref was really pro-Argentina, he would have never given 10 minutes of added time, and he would have never called that weak at the end of the game.

Argentinian players were all pissed because of precisely this. Moronic refs who think themselves the stars of the show should never be allowed to officiate big games.
