I think you can make yourself mentally ill to some large extent with stress, work overload, lack of sleep, etc. He may literally be driving himself crazy doing too many things.
He looks like he's having a mental breakdown judging by some of his twitter posts. I used to be a fan and I'm not a hater even now, but i'm just calling it like I see it.

was the outcome clear 20 minutes in?
I think he's been insulated from criticism his entire life. Being exposed to the real public so directly and constantly has made him start to flail, maybe even panic a little -- but it's not mental illness. It's more the shock of discovering a lot of people don't think he's the special little boy like he was told all along.
They're booing ME?
does biden derangement syndrome count?
I don't know he had several cryptic ones after I saw linked on other sites.
His poll and response reminds me of the Derp poll that got him so enraged he made a new poll and voted for himself with 30 altssame energy
hilarious, I had all but forgotten about Derp's sock-puppet shenanigans

Give derp tens of billions of dollars and he'll buy SpursTalk just to ban us all.
Well he is a special person despite his politics. He's the second wealthiest person in the world despite his terrible year and one of the greatest entrepreneurs ever. You can't just dismiss his work at Paypal, SpaceX and Tesla as not truly extraordinary.
I think his erratic behavior on Twitter and his political talk have simply rubbed people the wrong way. I would argue he is driving himself nuts stretched too thin and burned out by stress.
It's all self-induced.
Someone like Trump has done big things but he had the New York press ting on him for decades to toughen him up. Coverage of Elon had been so fawning and fellative up until the very recent past that Elon wasn't ready for the inevitable turn. This happens with everyone who chases the spotlight. Elon just has enough money and insecurity to try and stop the criticism by buying an entire media platform.
It's self-induced because he's chosen this lifestyle that's driving him mad. However, I wouldn't compare him to Trump who was able to do big things largely because he was born into wealth and the real estate empire of his father. Elon is truly self-made.
Elon bought Twitter because he has a big ego and thought his magic touch might unleash its potential. Unfortunately for him, he did it during an economic downturn and it's proving harder than he thought, hence extra stress and pressure to gin up interest in the platform.
Ultimately though, I don't think Elon bought Twitter to try and silence criticism since that actually wouldn't be good for activity on the platform. He also didn't buy it to shut down ElonJet which he could have done for much less than $44 Billion.
Uh, daddy owned an emerald mine. He's as self-made as Gates or Bezos -- had a good start.
He bought it because he could. Of course he wanted to back out of the deal because he overpaid. Since he got it I absolutely believe he wants to at least put a chill in his critics with his latest actions. Thiel did it through the courts by proxy. Musk is being more direct.Elon bought Twitter because he has a big ego and thought his magic touch might unleash its potential. Just because you don't come from Compton, doesn't mean you can't be self-made. He wasn't handed millions like Trump as far as I know.
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/03/odd-...0lumber%20mill.At first, Musk worked at his cousin’s farm in Waldeck, Saskatchewan (a village that as of 2016 had a population of fewer than 300 people), tending to vegetables and shoveling grain bins, according to the book “Elon Musk.”
Then Musk learned to cut logs with a chainsaw in Vancouver, British Columbia, according to the book.
However, after asking at the unemployment office what jobs paid the best, Musk took on his hardest gig yet: cleaning out the boiler room of a lumber mill.
For $18 an hour, Musk said in the biography that he had to “put on this hazmat suit and then shimmy through this little tunnel that you can barely fit in. Then, you have to shovel, and you take the sand and goop and other residue, which is still steaming hot, and you have to shovel it through the same hole you came in through.”
“There is no escape,” Musk said. “Someone else on the other side has to shovel it into a wheelbarrow. If you stay in there for more than 30 minutes, you get too hot and die.
He's putting a bit of chill in his critics but many have crossed the line with doxing and such.
Nobody has doxxed Elon.
bucks play in new orleans tonight
i just gave away assassination coordinates for giannis
Who would tell you he was?
Elon?
Like I said -- he's as self-made as Gates and Bezos. It's not a knock on him.
There was no doxxing. There is publicly available plane data. If some people are going to take out Elon with a stinger missile they probably have better intel than that. He's putting a bit of chill in his critics but many have crossed the line with doxing and such.
I'd take anything Elon says about himself with a lot of salt. He lied about his education glibly and that fell apart recently.
I think his daughter becoming trans and disowning him is the cause here. He blames progressivism/leftism and is becoming deranged about it.
elon will now only consider the opinions of simps who agree to pay him $8/mo
musk's ideas of what to do with twitter always seem to just be the last thing he read on twitter
I had not thought of this and it sounds very plausible.
He’s taking advice from Ian Miles Cheong and Kim DotcomThis is truly the dumbest timeline.
But what if his kids are there!
Lol wow. What a little kid.
