Good singing. He’s respected, cheap and does the trick in the locker room and is a position of need with Jak gone.

Hi, Gorgui, how ya been? Gosh, we haven’t seen you in so long. It seems like… hours since you were here.
Bro quadruple dipping.
Closes the door on Goga. Dieng really seemed to like being a Spur for some reason. I wonder if he's planning on going into coaching or the FO. Certainly feels like the Spurs have plans for him given how they've kept him on the roster despite not needing to to give Dieng money.
Keeping the young 'uns spirit up is as valuable as their development on court, tbh. Having McBuckets and Dieng around to give them the big picture and supporting them is gold to me.
Yeah, he’s already listed for the Spurs on spotrac three times.
Contract details?
Wtf? We have 4 centers- Collins, Bassey, Birch, and Dieng lol
hahah seriously dude. I think sites like sportrac will take a week to be near updated given the flurry of activity.
One thing that PATFO can be counted on is taking care of their own and we have money to burn so I’m not mad.
There’s some history behind it. In Basketball Without Borders in 2015, Dieng played for Team Africa, coached by Pop. Then, Dieng has stated in some interview that he knew R. C. Buford before he learned to speak English.
Add one more door.
Need to start adding Bryn's name to that image
Good signing! Glad he's back.
I agree. There is the R.C. and African basketball connection that first introduced these two and it may lead to something beyond being on the roster.
Dieng never unpacks his stuff at the hotel and just wait to get cut. They have a room at the hotel called the "Dieng room" which is always available in case Gorgui comes back.
It's more like he's stuck in a revolving door... in, then out, then in, then out... rinse and repeat
Dieng is an elite locker room guy. All the young guys look up to him and listen to him. He's also the first guy to go talk to a player who gets yelled at by Pop. It's rare to find a player who doesn't have to play in order to be an effective leader.
Most comparable locker room guy I can think of on the Spurs would be Sean Marks. But Marks was different. He wasn't really a traditional leader -- he was just everyone's best friend and helped the chemistry off the court.
All my homies love Gorgui Dieng
I can never be mad about the Spurs signing Dieng, since I was the one who said they should sign him in the first place
No Goga I see. He’s must really be a headcase or something given all the rumored past interest
thanks for sharing that. I have read, probably from some of your posts or others that he is a great locker room guy and I was scratching my head thinking it was more like what you described Marks as being but he must go beyond that. Nice to hear.
Free agents, even low ranking ones, Won't necessarily come here. You are very likely to be cut in SA given our depth. Go to a contender. Also fat women , bad arena, poor nightlife,
I can see Dieng being named an assistant coach in Austin next season. They like him for other than his playing skills and he likes us for some reason .
I’m just hoping we don’t drag our feet for a full-time roster spot for Bassey because we like guys like Dieng. Hopefully they two camps have good communication and Bassey doesn’t get frustrated and look for a new team after he shows out in this last third (which I think he will do unless he is hurt)
