imo Snyder is an upgrade over McMillan but not an enormous one. The Hawks will still go as far as their players, mainly Trae, will take them.

I think decent talent is about right, but not awesome. Also they have a big decision in the summer of 2024. They're on the books for 128 million and DJM is a restricted FA.
If the team is treading water you can see a scenario where they blow it up..
Who knows really things can change fast
Isn't RFA only applies at end of rookie contract

Snyder might get some sway with personnel changes. Hard to say at this point how it shakes out. Hopefully for our sake they stick with Trae because he seems to be part of the problem.

If we’re lucky enough to land Wembanyama, I could see Pop going for another stretch. We know the kid would love to play under Pop, so that would be a way to satisfy him.

It would be great if if it’s Manu. He brings a lot of credibility and knows the system inside out. I’ve envisioned Tony taking the GM position and bringing his savviness, but I doubt he has time with his time as a basketball owner. But yeah, Manu would be great as a coach.
Tony is selling his interest in the team..

Spurs play ATL Sunday, March 19th.

Otherwise move this irrelevant thread to the NBA Forum.

Such a shame Quinn signed w/ Atl
Could have been a good alternative to the current situation

Manu is the one all-time player who I think could be a great coach.
always thought he'd be a great coach as well but has he actually shown any interest in coaching?

Nope, just ST wetdreams. Brett Brown is clearly the replacement.

I remember he is not keen in traveling previously and wanted to spend more time with family and reject an offer resulting in Timmy filling in as assistant coach for one season. Whether he will take up coaching full time will depends on whether he is comfortable to constantly staying away from his family again.

    Agreed.

Not sure I'd wish this rebuild on him though.

Anything short of landing Wama and i think any coach sincerely interested in winning / especially a former player of Manus stature to likewise avoid this rebuild.

No Scoot is not a franchise builder ala Timmy Duncs and mmmaybe Wama. Huge, high hopes for Wama tho.

Luckily for Manu, he gets to see the results of the draft lottery before he makes a decision. I think he, or just about anyone else, would much rather coach the Spurs with VW than without him.

We had a player his teammates wife.
We had a player pull his out so much he got kicked off the team.
We had a former player get into a domestic dispute with a pornstar.
We had a player who admits to constantly smoking weed but never getting caught aka the spurs knew just didn't say anything.
If Ime wants this job the spurs would hire him in a second. Nobody cares about some bustdown he smashed in Boston.
Not a chance. This team is so hypocritically woke, Ime would definitely not get the HC job here. TP sticking around after the Barry incident was the anomaly. Primo - gone, S. Jackson cut as soon as organization found out he ed Tim's soon to be ex-wife, "Former player" - just stop there, it has nothing to do with the Spurs at that point.

It started off as an an inner city slang term for aware, but it's been hijacked by generally old, white, closet racist (and more) s bags, who can't stand minorities having the audacity to determine what they find offensive nor having to face consequences for their actions.
