Probably the same legislators that want students to be allowed to hear both sides when it comes to evolution and creation.

If they also teach courses on the lizard people overlords running our government, the moon landing hoax, and that Elvis is still alive, I am all in for expanding the education system.

Prayer is obligatory, breaches of decorum and public order will be strictly discountenanced. Members will be expelled from the Tennessee House.

Parents and children held signs and shouted chants during a large protest at the Tennessee capitol last week following a deadly school shooting. And while no one was arrested or injured, Republican House Speaker Cameron Sexton is comparing the demonstration to the Jan. 6 insurrection.

During the House Floor session on Thursday — days after the Covenant School shooting — Reps. Gloria Johnson, D-Knox, Justin Pearson, D-Memphis, and Justin Jones, D-Nashville, stood up and chanted with protestors in the gallery.

Pearson and other Democrats attempted to acknowledge the large group of protesters during session, but were told to stick to the subject of the bill by Speaker Cameron.

“We listened to them and helped to elevate the issue that they are demanding justice for,” said Pearson.

House Speaker Cameron Sexton said their actions were more than a breach of decorum, comparing it to the January 6th insurrection in remarks to outlets.

*killed by gunfire in the vicinity of the FBI"

U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas M. DiGirolamo approved pretrial release for McGrath and set the conditions. He was ordered to surrender his passport and report on a regular basis to the court. McGrath was permitted to travel to Maryland and Florida, or elsewhere if approved by the court, and could not possess a firearm.

A doctor and his younger nurse fall in love. They continue their torrid affair even after his ex-wife tips off the nurse’s husband, a local politician, to the salacious goings-on. As the divorce moves forward, discovery turns up that the nurse is not just the doctor’s employee and his lover, but his patient, with a predilection for pain pills. And, oh, she’s his second cousin, too.

But this is not General Hospital, not Grey’s Anatomy. This is the town of Hohenwald (pop. 3,703) in Lewis County, where bitter divorce proceedings have brought to light possibly unethical behavior by Dr. Joey Hensley, a Republican state senator who also happens to be a family physician — and one who has run for office since 2002 on a platform of conservative Christian values.

Hensley, 61, was subpoenaed to appear last week in Williamson County Circuit Court to testify in the divorce proceedings of Hohenwald Vice Mayor Don Barber and his wife Lori. He refused to show up, citing legislative and medical privilege.

“I didn’t have time to do it,” Hensley said when contacted on Friday afternoon. “I had nothing to do with the court case, and any testimony I would have given wouldn’t have made any difference.”

“It’s not still ongoing,” Hensley said Monday night. “That was several months ago, years ago. I didn’t break any laws. I’m not married, I’m divorced. … And nothing happened while I was married. … She didn’t leave because of me, it wasn’t because of me. We’ve been friends for 30 years or more. She’s related to me, but she’s been a friend too.”

Surely it'll be the PE coaches but more than likely a doctor's note I'd think. Crazy.

"Indoctrination" is one of the greatest buzzwords conservatives have ever come up with to feed the fearmongering of their base.

As with other buzzwords ( ex: grooming) they're masters of the art and deflecting

Surprised no comment on the expulsions in Tennessee. Not seating elected officials by other than race or criminal defect is pretty much unknown...

Montana Republicans aim to change election rules — for one key Senate race

Republicans in Montana are trying to change the rules for next year’s Senate primary to

make it easier to defeat Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and win back the Senate majority.

A bill moving through the statehouse in Helena would

change the structure of the election from the party primary system currently in place

to a jungle primary in which the top two vote-getters advance to the general election regardless of party.

The move would essentially box out Libertarian candidates.

The thinking among Republicans is that this would, theoretically,

push those would-be third-party voters toward the GOP candidate and

give the party a leg up against Tester, the three-term Senate Democrat who they are pining to take down this year.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/3939915-montana-republicans-election-rules-senate-race

Election rigging, voter suppression, for 40+ years, proving the Repugs know that they are the minority party nationally and can only win by cheating.

Hitler's Nazis were also the minority party, getting only 1/3 of the vote.

    Nothing new under the sun
