A multi-millionaire Russian MP with mysterious links to the UK has been found dead.
Nikolay Bortsov had secretly obtained the right to live in Britain, according to leaked data in 2019.
Despite appearing to be a staunch political ally for Vladimir Putin, he reportedly managed to gain ‘indefinite leave to remain’ status as a UK resident.
The oligarch, who was a member of the main pro-Putin party United Russia, was found dead at his home in the Lipetsk region on Sunday.

Russia’s oil export revenues fell by nearly a third between January and March this year compared to the last quarter of 2022, the Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing a recent study by the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE).
The analysts say the change was largely due to the introduction of price caps on Russian petroleum products by European Union and G7 countries — a measure aimed at hampering Russia’s ability to finance its invasion of neighboring Ukraine.

The number of data breaches in Russia surged last year and is on course to increase further in 2023, the RBC news website reported Monday, citing data from cyber-security firms.
According to Group-IB, 1.4 billion pieces of data such as names, phones, addresses and birthdays appeared online in 2022.
That marks a 42-fold increase from the 33 million pieces of data leaked the previous year.
Valery Baulin, head of Group-IB’s digital forensics lab, said the “vast majority” of the leaks appeared online for free.
“This means that the cyber-criminals’ motive wasn’t to make money but to cause reputational or economic damage to Russian businesses and their customers,” he told RBC.

If Russia did this, they would meet NATO conventional bombing on a massive scale that would end any conventional ambitions for winning Ukraine or anything else in Eastern Europe. Putin knows this. They try and play up the need to make this an official war. An immediate turn for Russia that would involve every person and the entire economy on a war time footing. Putin ends up blocking some of these guys are even doing away with them. Or using them to further prod his own Ministry of Defense if they perform poorly. Its a quite intricate political game that Putin plays because of his dumb ass choice to invade in the first place imo.
