Articus looks like a weak burger
Everybody gets the sniffles, repeatedly.
Articus looks like a weak burger
So much for disease control.

"The right to infect others shall not be infringed"
https://www.news-medical.net/amp/new...e-systems.aspx‘We discovered that influenza and COVID-19 destroy a previously unknown natural immunity that we need to resist invasive fungal infections,’ says Nicole Sarden, a PhD candidate at the University of Calgary and first author on the study. The findings published in Science Translational Medicine show that two types of white blood cell (neutrophils and a unique type of B cells) normally work together to fight fungal infection. However, viruses like SARS-CoV-2 and influenza impede the special B cells from doing their job
Fungal infections can be extraordinarily difficult to get rid of.
Small sample size, 12 long COVID patients, but a dire finding: immune exhaustion.
https://www.longdom.org/open-access/...vid-95498.htmlWe compared plasma cytokine levels from individuals with long-COVID to healthy individuals and found that those with long-COVID had 100% reductions in circulating levels of Interferon Gamma (IFNγ) and Interleukin-8 (IL-8). Additionally, we found significant reductions in levels of IL-6, IL-2, IL-17, IL-13, and IL-4 in individuals with long-COVID. We propose immune exhaustion as the driver of long-COVID, with the complete absence of IFNγ and IL-8preventing the lungs and other organs from healing after acute infection, and reducing the ability to fight off subsequent infections, both contributing to the myriad of symptoms suffered by those with long-COVID
Anecdotal, would be interesting to see a proper study on this.
Still haven't met a single "long covid" zombie.![]()
you used to say the same about COVID patients. your tune has changed since then.
How did your 3rd covid quarantine go?
It was my second, my wife got it last winter. It went fine, she didn't get sick. I only felt crappy a few days, but it took me nearly two weeks to clear the virus. I watched the Last Kingdom and three seasons of Sucession.
Hopefully, you didn't create an army of long covid zombies.
Hopefully not. I'm more careful than most. I try to mitigate the risk.
Given my personal history, I judge it more likely for me to be a superspreader than a victim.
I seldom get sick. On the order of like, once or twice a decade.
No data, no problem!

Some of the animals are more equal than others.
About 1,000 of those daily deaths are here in the US.
~170,000 people in the US died of COVID last year.
Covid has finally fallen to 4 th leading cause of death behind cancer, heart disease, accidents.
Still leads strokes and other cerebrovascular deaths. I imagine some heart disease overlap is present.
Sniffles... not...
Thanks science for the vaccines!
Almost, officially ends on Thursday.
won't be over until we're extinct tbh
the official emergency will elapse, the ongoing pandemic won't.
Abbott says his COVID emergency is not over.
he needs the discretion to move funds around for his potemkin border enforcement.
