Crazy that six of the eight coaches who have led their teams to the Finals in the last five years have been fired or let go from their respective teams (Lue, Nurse, Vogel, Monty, Bud, Udoka).

Will be interesting to see if Kerr will be on the hot seat with a new GM and team changes going forward.

Surely Durbetta and Bookerdashian had to sign off on this, right? (If not being the instigators.)

I would hope CPO had no say in this.

I mean is it going to be a ring around the Rosie of coaches? Phoenix hires Bud, Toronto hires Doc, Milwaukee hires Monte, and I’m sure Nurse will land somewhere

More than likely. I think that it would probably be best for these coaches to get fresh starts elsewhere since they are all proven coaches in the league with strong resumes.

Sorry, I meant GM. Rumors are that Bob Myers will be out of Golden State as they fail to agree on an extension

That said, I feel like Kerr is still probably safe (for now) but could definitely see them shaking up the team and getting rid of guys like Draymond and Poole

Wouldn’t be surprised if Milwaukee goes after Monty quickly

Doc Rivers will be the next one axed. Hardin with a big 9 point close out game production. The could have gotten that from Ben Simmons. Embid not much better.

    Interesting
Phoenix and Milwaukee both have obvious flaws in their teams. As always the coach is to blame
. It becomes an interesting question did the team overachieve because of the coach or underachiever.

I'm a little wary of Bud, but interested in Monty,
Actually maybe more interested in Borrego coming back.

Former Spurs coach I'm more interested in. No baggage (so far) like Udoka. Not the same flaws as Bud. Was able to get a young team on the right track. May want a slower situation. Feels like a better fit.

i'd much rather have Bud would could do worse than Williams as a consolation prize hire. for instance, somebody like Doc (assuming he becomes available) would be a trainwreck. i do think the gap between monty and bud is sizeable, though. monty has basically only had success off the of Chris Paul. think he did good work developing that phoenix team until they were gutted in the durant trade, which is why im as high on him as i am
