Popovich should have a fun time with lineup experimentation next year. Lots of versatile young dudes to mix and match.

Windy was talking about his pregame stretch program being must see, even compared it, though less impressively, to Curry's pregame routine.

It makes me think that Wembanyama is going to be less susceptible to the lisfranc or other tendon and ligature injuries that other tall guys have had issues with. Given he's been prepping for his abnormal height for years based on sports science.

Damn! I still can't believe the Spurs got the #1 pick for Wemby. The hype on Wemby is unreal. Everything connected to San Antonio and Spurs are busy.

There's already report that the demand of season ticket is rising. The financial opportunity on what Wemby will bring is gonna be remarkable, not only to Spurs but also to San Antonio as a whole. Based from the internet, it seems the San Antonio is lively again.

I really wished he'll have a good and healthy career.

What a narrative so far considering there's a mutual interest from Wemby and his camp.

Wembanyama said some interesting things in this interview:

Lottery is done, Spurs will get #1 pick, how do you feel ?
Since it's over now, I've seen some teams getting picks #2,3,4,5,6 and I was happy to see them getting these picks. I'm very happy about the outcome.

First thoughts about the city and the franchise of San Antonio?
San Antonio is for me a solid and loyal fan base despite recent ups and downs. It's also of course les and a winning culture like nowhere else.

When you were, did you watch theses les?
I remember about 2013 and 2014. There was of course the Ray Allen shoot, everybody remember it as a great shoot but, for me, as TP was playing, it was the bad guy shoot.

    About being coached by Pop?
It will be an honor. From what I've heard, he is a demanding coach but I'm sure of one thing, it's that he is a good coach. He is quite more experienced than me, so I'm coached by him, it will be with a lot of humility and excitement.

But Spurs are currently a bottom of the barrel team?
In NBA, teams can get really better very quick. In NBA, with how fast trades are going, I've nothing to worry about that. What matters is that this franchise has a strong basis and mindset.

How do you feel about being compared with TP as you go to Spurs too?
I'm not worried at all about it. It's just an honor. I know people have a lot of expectations but they aren't higher than the ones I have for myself.

Wemby is a bigger Spurs fan than most Spurs fans I know. This is amazing.

That first answer made it official that Wemby was rooting to be drafted by the Spurs.

Tony Parker turned the best prospect on the planet into a diehard Spurs fans.

I always joked around when he played for ASVEL there was a hidden clause in his contact that when he was drafted it had to be for the Spurs.

Yeah, TP has done a lot for Spurs in France. Saying that, TP and Wembanyama aren't necessarily in the best terms. When Wemby played for Parker's team in France and was coached by Parker's brother, some tensions grew on how he was used which led to Wemby leaving the team at the end of the season. It's not a big deal but I don't expect Parker to be some kind of mentor to him.

Wemby's good view about Spurs might also be because Spurs behaved well with his agent (Bouna Ndiaye) other clients (Batum and Mahinmi).

Yeah I think Wemby's comments about TP and Diaw got taken out of context. He didn't mean they are close friends, more about the France/Spurs history.

He's the equivalent of a desperate ex-girlfriend who dumps you when you lose your job and are broke then comeback a few years later when you are suddenly doing great financially and pretends nothing bad ever happened between you and her.
