YT premium is worth it if you watch a lot of YouTube
And you have YT Music included which has improve a lot overtime, it's pretty good now from what I hear
If you subscribe to it and are on iOS, don't do it via the app or it will be more expensive, do it directly through their website
If you are on Android there are free YT apps like Vanced.
Nothing better than being forced to watch a 30 second ad to see a 12 second short.
They better not pull any of this crap with Sunday Ticket. Imagine watching a game winning drive but then you have to skip two ads and end up missing the touchdown.

For me it's a music video or workout routine. Usually some random 1-2 minute clip.
I'm using CleanTube right now on my phone for standard YT videos and shorts. It doesn't work for movies and I've not tried it on live content yet, but everything else is 100% ad free
Been using YouTube premium for more than five years now tbh. Definitely worth it.
The Opera desktop browser has blocked all YT ads for me so far. Don't use YT on the phone enough to care but I'll start experimenting with blockers.

UBlock Origin blocks them on chrome. My lady has YouTube Premium because that is how she consumes podcasts, but I listen to podcasts not watch so I haven't done it

Those long ass ads that force you to skip are the main reason why I use apps/browsers that block them all. I can handle an occasional 30 second commercial, but 5 minutes for a single one? And so many of them are click baity, get-rich-quick nonsense. I use YT for music a lot of the time, so having to stop what I'm doing to skip an ad is a major inconvenience.

If you subscribe directly through the ios app, otherwise it’s like 10 bucks or something like that vis the website

YT Premium is definitely worth the < $11 they charge, especially with YT music thrown in. It's the streaming service I most often use, so lots of value there to me.

My main one is Spotify
I have YT Premium because ads but also for off screen listening, but I do use YT Music once in a while because it has some DJ mixes that I like (thanks to YouTube, duh) and are not available on other platforms.
Spotify also allows me to upload playlists on my apple watch for offline listening when I go to the gym, so I can leave my bulky ass phone at home and connect my airpods to my watch (I don't think you can do that yet with YT music)
