This article has a very very "ignorant condescending american" feel... Nanterre is part of the whole parisian urban area, like a 10/15 minutes train ride to get into paris) and he hasn't played his last game yet. And if he can manage parisian lifestyle, he should be able to adapt to LA's one without much trouble. He wxill probably get bored in SA for all I know...

Have a feeling a lot of bronsexuals are going to jump on the Wemby bandwagon once Lebron retires tbh. If he pans out, there’ll be a wave of prepubescent boys becoming Spurs fans essentially overnight. Plenty of grown men too.

Woj feeling insecure about his “best prospect ever” take and wanting to recast, lol.

At the end of the segment they talk about Jaime Jaquez. He’s my guy for 33. He’s just a winner and all heart.

I like Jacquez too. Good all-around player who makes up for his lack of athleticism with a high BBIQ and a good motor (he’s still not a terrible athlete). He showed out during the tournament. I think he might sneak into the First Round though. Like 27-30 range. But if he’s available at 33, if the happy with that pick.

Yeah, we just might miss out.

To me, these low SRPs is where you grab the proven winner Juniors/Seniors from the pedigree schools. The Tre Jones, Ty Jerome, Josh Harts of the world. They’re tone and culture settles for your team will solid fundamentals and that just make the “right plays.” That’s Jaquez this year.

Searched the forum and seems like nobody posted this, but I find it to be a good read.

Oh yes! Forcier was a key assistant during the 2007-2016 period that saw the transition of the Spurs from a Duncan-centric old-school team into a P&R based perimeter oriented team. He can be a great player development coach at the Spurs again.

While I don't disagree with LA, it's not like Texas doesn't have his fair share of ignorant people. For a European, that's a bit of a culture shock.

Luckily, San Antonio has a lower propensity of cousin ing mouth breathing hillbilly neck beards than the rest of Texas, save for the ones who frequent SpursTalk and get fired up about Pop enough to take their Oakleys off long enough to post to Truth social from their F150.

I know this is from a previous game but watch the baskets here.

-waits behind the hoop, receives a dump pass and slams it.
-Grabs the board, outlet pass, runs the floor straight through the middle (not the wings like a winger would), receives an entry pass and dunks it again.
-Sitting on the low block, a guard penetrates and kicks it out for a midrange jumper.
-high-low action, Wemby in the low post, receives and finishes.
    -Post up, hook shot.
-Coming off a screen for a midranger.
-Sets the screen, pick and pop assist.

This the way that Wemby scores, he's a center. Sure he can hit the occasional highlight 3 or fadeaway jumper, but that's not his game. I don't know who's the one that came up with the KD comparisson, but that's not the type of player he is, tbh.

He is for sure a PF/C (more time at C probably). There are ways to throw out comparisons. Personality comparisons, talent comparisons, archetype comparisons. What I threw out in my comparison is how a team should build around Wemby. Wemby IS similar to Durant in some aspects, but a lot different in others. For example, he is nowhere as agile, but the bag of offensive moves is similar.

What I wouldn’t want Victor to be doing too much on offense (albeit probably unavoidable) is for him to set screens and some dirty s bag run purposely into his knees. Sort of like what Schroder did to Green in these playoffs.

In an interview published today in L'EQUIPE, Vincent Collet (coach of the Mets and french NT) says that he can almost play any position and might even play small forward with the national team. He adds that Victor ball handling and BBIQ should incite him to consider playing as a point forward.

Won't happen against anyone worth a , tbh. At least not if they pretend to win. Wemby's most efficient weapon (not his only one, of course) is using his length around the basket.

^^ I think the bigger issue there would be Gobert clogging up the lane and getting in Embiid's way, but the defense would sure be formidable.

Holy crap, imagine a Wemby-Embiid-Gobert frontcourt. Opponents better hit their 3s.
