I mean young NBA players will most likely think it's relatively boring.
Older dudes with that mindset are pretty pathetic.
Agreed after a certain age LA and NYC loses its luster since these are cities primarily for young people when it comes to clubs and night life. When you are 40 plus you are just out place when it comes to that stuff. This is why I always look at the media people who get emotional as idiots when the NBA finals isn't in NYC, LA, Miami. I'm thinking you guys are 40 plus old guys pretending to still be 20-year-old guys missing out on spring breaks. I believe low key some of these media guys pay for escorts in these big cities hence why they are salty when the NBA finals are not in these big cities.

I don't ever knock the players for wanting to be in the big market cities. I hate these old media guys who are above 40 who and complain how these cities are boring.
One thing that makes the Spurs “boring” is that we rarely have terrible off court drama that the media loves.
I mean, Memphis is not boring right now, but who wants to be interesting in that way?
It's strange we were called boring, but the Warriors took our play style(from Steve Kerr), shot 35-40 three pointers per game on illegal screens and that was fun to watch for some reason.
I would say it was the Disney Marketing that made the very popular combined with their 3-star players loving media exposure in Curry, Draymond, Klay. The Spurs big 3 was the complete opposite and didn't seek media exposure. Also, Steph looking like a 10-year-old makes him very marketable to the casual fan.
I agreed with you on that I never found the Warriors style of basketball entertaining.
stupid ass scott van pelt did a two-minute take on the banality of the nuggets last night although he tried to do it in a flattering way. just another example of how f'ing clueless ESPN is.
Warriors....
I remember in 2007 watching ESPN talk down the ratings of the finals being broadcast on their own parent network. Stupid doesn't begin to describe it.
Anybody who have watched ginobili or parker and called it boring are idiots. Parker was like freaking speedy Gonzalez and manu was one of the most entertaining player to watch, ever. Sochan is fun to watch as well.
When the media calls your city "boring", what they really mean is they can't readily get a hold of kids to molest or addicts to abuse and murder.
Basically the human trafficking scene is still very pedestrian.
You know that the spurs were called often boring but so was Denver and look what they did. NBA Champs. In fact during the Denver - fakers series, 75% of the conversations were about he fakers and all they did was get smoked silly 4 games to none.
Like Denver, we may not be flashy, but in the end we got the chip, unlike the fakers who were left crying, griping and complaining about the refs (we see you Lebronto soreass) or dreaming about a vacation (rest of the team). There's always next year.
I would say it has to do mainly with the city not having a good escort scene along with not having celebrities and famous people for these 40-year-old plus media guys to hang out with.
Not sure why spurs fans get offended…its just a matter of perspective…
l.a. and ny and sf are nice places to live if you are a young single millionaire baller…
they are more exciting than san antonio or any other place in texas…but not everyone is a single 20 something gazzillionaire
and when anyone watches a nba game the court is still the same court in every nba city…its not like you want to watch a game and say,
“uh, where is this playoff game being played?” “Oh, lakers playing in okc (which is even more boring than s.a.) nah- im not watching that game unless it being played in l.a.!”
if you are a half way intelligent human- you are never bored - no matter where you live…
The Spurs were considered one of the most exciting teams in the league in the 1970s before most of you were Spur fans.
Never understood how NFL people never complain about Green Bay yet somehow San Antonio lacks anything interesting. NBA players can afford a helipad so they can get a quick ride to the airport. Problem solved.
exactly
doesnt wemby live in paris now?
im sure he can retreat to france any time he misses it and any nba player can take trips anywhere anytime
And who gives a if San Antonio is boring? TV will be broadcasting the Spurs, not the city.![]()
If you play basketball, you can live somewhere else in the off season, which is the worst time to be in Texas, and then show back up for camp when it starts cooling down.
I don't have an axe to grind with the players for wanting to be in big cities. My axe to grind is with the media when they and complain about this stuff.
yes agreed
the media is being disingenous and trying to reinforce a narrative that benefits their business
