Man, Wemby generating at sorts of jobs
This is why the NBA shipped Wemby to the Spurs. They know the Spurs will manage the resource to maximum benefit vs. grinding it into the ground for some short term pursuit.
They want other teams to adopt this model to maximize profits from premier talents. Profligate teams will not be awarded top picks.
It was on either on Get up or First Take on ESPN, Givony mentioned it in a small segment he was doing on Wemby.
On a side note, honestly Wemby has put on some muscle. Yes he’s skinny but he’s so damn big lol you can visually see muscle definition on him (no )
So what if the Spurs don't pick Wemby?
hes got them reggie miller skinny muscles
Do not equate Wama with Regina Miller again.
Ever.
It would be a smart move. They have worked for a year together and Wembanyama hasn't been injured since that. The 82 games NBA schedule will be for sure a bigger challenge but what they are doing has worked well so far.
While I think Spurs should mostly treat Wembanyama like any other rookie (mainly for team chemistry and because Wembanyama is a coachable player), his health/conditioning deserves a special treatment because of his size.
kawhi just wanted to do this too for his uncle
Spurs hired a useless like Jeremy McCringleberry just to keep Nephew and Uncle Dennis happy. Of course they weren't gonna say no to hiring someone who actually contributes towards the goal of keeping their next franchise ticket on the floor.
his trainer doesnt want him to put on muscle too quickly.........
"The goal has never been to bulk up -- not while his frame is still developing. He's adding some weight normally, but not 10 or 20 pounds every month. That could be difficult for his motor control, knees, joints. We try to build it as best as we can." - Trainer Guillaume Alquier
Someone had to rub those kangaroo feet of his
Yeah, that guy who picked the right combination of balls is a magician. Thank you Mandrake.
Interesting points. I agree with Givony the NBA is gonna actually be easier for Wemby. Less contact than in Europe where refs are much more tolerant (old NBA fashion way) less double or triple teams, better teammates, Pop putting him in the best situation. Again, he dropped 72 pts in 2 games in Vegas in NBA configuration. I see him putting nice numbers pretty quickly.
