Official and all caps
The long wait is over! It's time for the 2023 NBA Draft!!!
A lot of things happened in the last 6 years. Kawhi get Zaza'd in Game 1 of the 2017 NBA Western Conference Finals, our Spurs squandered a 25 points lead, eventually getting swept by the Durant-led Warriors on their way to their 2nd le in 3 years. And Kawhi started his disappearing acts the following season, ultimately with Uncle Dennis' help, manipulated his way out of the Spurs. But PATFO not submitting to his demand for a warm-weather Los Angeles destination, traded him to the cold North, just to watch the prodigal son won his 2nd ring!! while the Spurs ended up with Demar and his mid-range jumpers, and a flawed roster. The Spurs were never the dominant team again, ultimately breaking a record-tying run of 22 consecutive postseason appearances. And we watch our Spurs slowly and patiently built it's core from the Draft, Keldon, Devin, Jeremy, but not without misses, Luka, Lonnie and finally Primo's one-man freak show. Spurs finally traded their homegrown players Derrick and Dejounte for future picks, as they ultimately embraced the Rebuild. And started the loong season of race for the Wembanyama sweepstakes. ! It worked. The basketball gods heard the wailing and ing mostly coming from ST. And the Spurs was awarded, for the 3rd time in 3 decades, the right to pick a generational top-prospect!
Thursday June 22, 2023. The day has arrived. The 2023 NBA Draft. Spurs fans can come out again from shame. Let's go!

should we make a separate spoiler free one?
Good idea.
Let’s go!!!
I’m guessing this website crashes around 5pm so is there a need for a spoiler thread? Lol
Are the hamsters in Slovenia running juiced up on steroids tonight?
When the Spurs take Scoot #1 it will nuke the site so bad it will leave a smoking crater and never recover.
The Nuggets are trading the least favorable of its 2024 first-round picks in deal to move into the first-round and early second in Thursday's NBA Draft, per sources. - Woj
It’s already lagging right now so I think that’s a safe assumption tbh![]()
Spurs fans have it so ing good. I hope y'all appreciate this lol.
This will be the first draft I watch in its entirety since we got Duncan.
Collecting some of my random musings.
1. Listened to newest Locked on Hawks podcast. Spoke about how the roster is nearly full, some agents were steering their guard clients away from Atlanta because of the roster glut, and they are currently in the tax
I could see swapping that pick for either the Hornets or Bulls first rounder, maybe with 44. That saves them $4.1 due to pick 15 with the bonus that there might not be any room for rookie minutes anyway.
2. Brooklyn has 21 and 22 and tax problems retaining Cam Johnson. Maybe it will be 21 or 22 + Mills for either 33 or 44. Saves them quite a bit of money, Spurs get Mills back to be a cheerleader.
3. Because the Clippers still have 30, attach that to Batum for 33 or 44. Not sure if Batum will be a great influence considering how much he's quit in the past, but could be useful.
Didn't DeMarre Carroll wear that same thing? For that reason alone, I'd pass on , tbh.
The Spurs have had quite enough flashy .
Yikes. I’m taking him off my big board entirely tbh.![]()
Wemby getting his steps right. It’s really happening
What is he talking about?
The beginning of a beautiful bromance tbh.
Maybe the war room?
The setup for the draft room sitting area looks different too. Usually they use circular tables that take up more space. This year they’re using thinner, rectangular shaped tables, as you can see in the rehearsal vid I posted above. More room for walking tbh. Doubt that’s what he’s referring to, as that’s the not the work of the Spurs. Just an observation.
Can Wemby sit on those small folding chairs?![]()
