Spurs security slaps the out of Britney Spears

If she weren’t unstable, it would have been very easy to meet Wembanyama and get a photo op. Just have her people talk to Spurs security. But because she’s crazy, she thought it would be a good idea to come up behind him and tap him on the shoulder. If somebody tried to do that to her, her security detail would respond similarly.

What I don’t get is that when someone is “crazy” or unstable or known to have mental illness, it’s all ok to on them instead of expressing empathy. I hope y’all never deal with people you care about go through ty times, or worse, develop a mental illness. Society is ed, man. Smh

I'm glad she's not seriously hurt/pressing charges/etc. The incident was unfortunate but the aftermath seems to have been handled well.

I don't think his security even knew who she was, and that shouldn't be their concern. Removing her hand from his client is fine, and it's unfortunate the angle led to her hitting herself in the face. We should have empathy for folks struggling with mental illness, but we shouldn't infantilize them. Brittany fought a very public court battle to prove she was capable of controlling her actions. She should take responsibility for her lack of judgment. Being famous doesn't give her the right touch other people without their consent. It might be okay if she struggles with that, but then it's still on her to make sure she has handlers who can keep her from making a mistake.

I hope the Spurs don't fire the guy who was just doing his job. Victor has people around him who are taking care of business. Brittany, on the other hand, should be looking to hire some new staffers.
