How did the Spurs not tell Wemby to not comment about it with reporters? He should have just said he didn't see it so he can't comment. What he said isn't terrible but it comes off kinda awkward, tbh.

Yea surprised the Spurs didn’t get ahead of this thing and either release a statement or tell Wemby to refrain from speaking on it. Could be waiting to gather all the info, but based on the police report, this sounds like a nothing-burger tbh. Weird situation nonetheless and not what Wemby or the team need to be distracted by going into tomorrow’s game.
The NBA should take over SA public relations if this is what they are doing. They probably got used to players behaving, so primo and kawhi were shocks they didn't learn from. Could be less than you think. Most folks know they can't just go up to someone and touch them like that. Brittany might have some issues, or she might just an en led rich middle-aged white woman who didn't think she needed respect someone's privacy, bodily autonomy or celebrity. Her indignation about this now (which is giving predatory vibes on top of the racist undertones) lends credence to that idea.
Spurs are used to very obedient media in San Antonio that doesn't ask tough questions so they're probably a little flat footed here.
First, I think Damian Smith, the Spurs security guy, did the right thing in protecting Victor. Second, I doubt Britney Spears had any idea who Victor was until someone in her group pointed him out and she rushed to grab a photo with him for her instagram, in an attempt to remain in the public eye as her career fades. She’s reaching the point where she’d rush the winner of the Westminster Dog Show to get a photo.
This has all the earmarks of a past-her-prime celebrity trying to stay relevant by being seen with a new celebrity. It’s got nothing to do with race, and those trying to work race into the equation are doing a real disservice to both parties.
