He was also a huge part of the comeback and did a couple of things that were jaw-dropping. Let him do everything he wants in summer league so he can be properly reined in by the time they play games that matter.
Wemby still is going to need more help than what's on the current roster.

I've been down on Cissoko the last three games, so I think it's only fair to sing his praises tonight.
The guy reduced his fouls (only 6 tonight as compared to 9 last game) and made every shot he took including a pair of corner 3's.
If he can continue on this path there is a role for him in the NBA.
Yeah, here is hoping we get a top 7 pick in 2024
Just goes to show you how meaningless that first game was and getting yourselves triggered by mentally unstable Britney Spears fans.
Just wake me up when the regular season starts. I want Victor with the real team.
Nice game from Wemby. Branham was the worst player on the court today. Also does Nielsen know coaching challenges exist?
WEMBY'S REVENGE WE WITNESSED.
He really reminds me of Stanley Johnson.
Luckily for Sidy, he got drafted by a franchise known to develop players.
If he develops a solid three ball, we got a potential all-defense guy on our hands.
Cissoko-Sochan-Wemby would be aan amazing defensive trio.
Wesley was the reason they were even in the game.
Shut Vic down for the rest of SL tbh. We've seen enough![]()
Maybe I'm too cynical but I've always believed shot-chuckers are shot-chuckers. They rarely change their ways. You hope they can be reined in but when push comes to shove in the pressure moments of a game they'll revert to type.
I'm aware Branham was even worse but there's at least enough evidence in his case from his past games that tonight was an aberration. Wesley I'm not so sure.
Branham will be fine but it's hilarious if he goes 3/17 or 4/17 we win that game. Wemby's confidence came back which is great to see. unfortunately he still should have had more attempts and had other players chucking. But that is Summer League for you.
Yes and no.
Wesley helped make a nice push early in the 4th when Wemby was on the bench which put the game within reach...but beyond that, his game wasn't great. If he (and others) had played up to par the entire game, Spurs wouldn't have been scrapping for a comeback.
I would like to see Wemby be more aggressive on rebounds but I think maybe he wasn't because the coaches instructed him not to right now.
Well yeah, dumbass. But there's time to take care of that. The Spurs aren't winning a championship this year.
Wemby taking the one footed 3 pointer over passing to a wide open Malaki
Can't blame the dude one bit after that![]()
First couple of pages of this thread were absolutely fantastic. Fantastic. Fantastic. I’m the luckiest guy in the world.
no lol...this bag of s can't beat a decent GLeague team![]()
Yup....If wesley,Branham or champ played a lil better...We would of won this game.
Wembanyama ia a great player but this game is a reminder that no player can do it alone. Sure, he'll have different teammates during the regular season, but opposing teams will look different as well.
I noticed the rotation was tighter tonight, not too many fringe guys getting any time other than the guy from West Virginia. Oh, and Bediako can go look for work overseas.
Pop gonna put him in the doghouse for the first 10 games for not making the right pass so he can "get over himself"
But yeah, after watching him go 1-17, I would've taken that shot too instead of passing it to Branham, and I consider myself lucky when I hit from NBA distance
