Go time boys. Game has been moved to ESPN @ 8:00pm**
No Malaki Branham tonight either. Spurs have shut him down for SL. That means 20+ shot attempts for Champagnie and more opportunities for Barlow and Wesley. And finally the debut of my boy Sir’Jabari Rice.
Let’s get it.

Best sports story for Spurs would be the fall in 2013 and the redemption of 2014.
Spurs probably need to win by about 25 to have a realistic shot of moving through to the four team playoff.
But it looks like they're mailing it in if they're shutting Branham down.
Really annoyed that the Spurs keep throwing games away. Dont5eanna play Wemby because he just came off a post-season? Okay. But give the guys a chance to win. The Spurs have gotten way too cautious over the last decade or so, and I'm not sure the evidence is out there that it's helped them.
Obviously if Bran is banged up that's a different story. Just can't be resting guys in the summer league.
how can they feel so good about bran after an up and down summer league? even last game was a tale of two halves. this guy needs all the reps he can get. im still not sure he looks all that different from last year. hes averaging 5 more ppg from last year's summer league but on worse efficiency.
He didn’t have an up and down summer league. I don’t understand the obsession with continuing to mischaracterize reality. He had one bad game. He actually had a great summer league and what really looked like an anomalous game.
He was already a rotation player. Sure he needed the reps and work but I think there was more than enough of a sample size to shut him down.
Other guys need reps too and everyone including us has a pretty good idea where he’s at.
he was in the rotation on a tanking team, but his metrics is a player last yer was abysmal. which is fine/understandable given the lack of talent around him and his being a rookie and all. need to see a lot of improvement from him on both ends, more summer league reps could only help
I dunno, Malaki looks much different than he did a year ago. It seems clear they wanted to work on specific things this summer league and like where he is. There's no reason to keep going - there's a whole season ahead.
Putting aside the game he struggled - and again I think he was thrown off trying to adjust to help Wembanyama, and a big story will be fitting everyone together in the season - he had periods where he was ripping teams up. The 'tale of two halves' complaint doesn't make sense, because even the best players in league aren't dominant throughout every game, plus he was exploding in the second half (of at least two games).
What is notable to me the most is how he was stepping into, taking in movement, and just letting rip three pointers and hitting them really well. The two non-shooting things I want him to work on most is impacting the game outside of shooting stats, primarily rebounds, and improving his defense. But as far as offense goes, slamming those threes was his big next step and it was happening here. He hit at a really high rate, wasn't hesitating, and doing it moving into the shots and not just as a standstill shooter.
If Branham is going to be a major threat off the bench, and I believe that's the goal, then this showed a taste of his development.
That’s essentially my complaint when analyzing this guy. The popular consensus here always seems to be driven by negative connotations rather than an honest reconciliation of the full context of the team. Even while you alluded to that.
I see an improved player. He’s playing with confidence and looks like a guy who’s made something out last year’s experience.
im glad he's improved. do you think he's good enough to the point where there is nothing he can get out of summer league? im not convinced of that
In case y’all needed a reason to hate OKC fans.
What meth does to a mf
They have a lot more data points than just his summer league and regular season games. The front office views these games as next to useless.
This is really common among Thunder fans right now. There's a Little Brother syndrome going on. They're used to being adored and obsessed over for their trove of draft picks, SGA, and their history of having Durant/Westbrook/Harden and being "full of promise." They can't stand attention being driven away from them. Very very common to hear "Chet is greater than Victor" stuff right now.
Another game isn't going to do anything.
In fact, shutting a player down is sort of a diploma, a sign of 'good job, you did it' and that has an impact on a guy.
First - this is exactly how I picture OKC fans![]()
Second - what a f'n take. Wemby doesn't have the mental for ude to stay healthy but Chet who literally just missed his entire rookie season does and is going to eat him up?![]()
Mfers look like they should be storming the capitol rather than discussing basketball
no to mention Chet (what a gy name btw) hurt his wittle foot in a ing meaningless pickup game on a non-contact playthe audacity of these meth smokers
backwards cap guy never let his guest speak once lol dude needs to lay off the monster energy drinks
