    C'est la vie

Convention organizers are pulling out of Florida, which is devastating knock-on tourism and causing panic over the future of the industry, experts warned in a report Friday.

When asked for a reason why they were scrapping plans, one organizer wrote simply: “Governor DeSantis.”

More than half a dozen planned conventions in Broward County, which encompasses the Fort Lauderdale area, have been scrapped in recent months, according to a list drawn up by the county’s tourism promotion group Visit Lauderdale and reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Good. They can take their ty vax-mandate mask-mandate woke business to Oregon or Massachusetts or some forever democrat run state like that. Florida is where woke goes to die and woke companies go (or stay) to die. I hope we can win California back too at some point in the next handful of cycles.

Mama mia! Meatball Ron's mama must ah have drop him on floor too many times as baby!
C'mon. That's racist. Italians don't talk like that. No one even from Staten Island talks like that. No Italian American I know talks like that. Not even the guidos on Jersey Shore talks like that.

3-yer old driving a golf cart? Is this a FL/GA thing and why is it just being made illegal? Are there no adults in the ing state? JFC!

A 3-year-old driving a golf cart hit and killed a 7-year-old in Florida, police say

A 3-year-old driving a golf cart struck and killed a 7-year-old on Monday afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 3-year-old was approaching a right curve near a home on private property when the front of the cart hit the 7-year-old who was standing in the front yard, the release said.

The older child was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, the release said. The 3-year-old wasn’t hurt.

Concerns about minors driving golf carts in Florida recently prompted the passage of a new state law, CNN affiliate WJFX reported. Anyone under the age of 18 will soon need to have a permit or driver’s license to drive a golf cart, the station reported last month.

The bill was signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis and goes into effect October 1.

Yes, but he should have been armed and stood his ground by firing on that fascist 3 year-old, just saying.

this desantis voter just jumped back on the trump 2024 bandwagon in a hurry
It's been surprising to me just how bad of a campaign desantis has been running. Seems like he is listening to the same consultants that Jeb! had.

racist af, but we already knew that about you.

    Early life and family

Ramaswamy was born on August 9, 1985, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Indian Hindu immigrant parents,[3] and was raised in Ohio.[5] His family are Brahmins from Kerala who speak Tamil.[3][7] His father, V. G. Ramaswamy, a graduate of National Ins ute of Technology Calicut, worked as an engineer and patent attorney for General Electric, while his mother, Geetha Ramaswamy, a graduate from Mysore Medical College worked as a geriatric psychiatrist.[3][8] His parents immigrated from Palakkad,[9][10] where the family had an ancestral home in a traditional Vadakkencherry agraharam village.[11][9][12]

Growing up, Ramaswamy often attended the local Hindu temple in Dayton with his family.[13] His conservative Christian piano teacher, who gave him private lessons from elementary through high school, also influenced his social views.[3] He spent many summer vacations traveling to India with his parents.[11]

    Education

Ramaswamy attended public schools through the eighth grade.[14][3] He then attended Cincinnati's St. Xavier High School, a Catholic school affiliated with the Jesuit order,[3][15] graduating in 2003.[16] He was class valedictorian and a nationally ranked junior tennis player.[3]

In 2007, Ramaswamy graduated from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts, summa laude, in biology, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.[17] At Harvard, he gained a reputation as a brash and confident libertarian.[18] He lived in Kirkland House and was a member of the Harvard Political Union,[19] becoming its president.[3] He told the Harvard Crimson that he considered himself a contrarian who loved to debate.[19] While in college, he was an intern for the hedge fund Amaranth Advisors and then the investment bank Goldman Sachs.[3] He wrote his senior thesis on the ethical questions raised by creating human-animal chimeras and earned a Bowdoin Prize.[17] An op-ed by Ramaswamy summarizing his thesis was published by the Boston Globe and republished in the New York Times.[20]

In 2011, the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans awarded Ramaswamy a post-graduate fellowship.[21] In 2013, he earned a J.D. from Yale Law School.[17] By that point, Ramaswamy had already amassed wealth from his involvement in the finance, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries; he said in 2023 that he had a net worth of around $15 million before graduating from law school.[18]

In a way the wojaks stood out more than the mythic jackbootery. DeSantis's messaging seems to be to be aimed at certain excessively online nihilists and fascists.

Meatball Ron back pedaling and flip-flopping...

Just two days after saying that if elected president he’d consider appointing conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead a federal public health agency, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis walked those comments back on Friday.

But DeSantis on Friday in an interview with Newsmax said that his comments were taken out of context and that a Kennedy appointment is now off the table.

That'd just about kill the Kennedy lovers. Remember when they taught John/John-on his birthday while his father was down at the DC morgue with half his head blown off how to salute? & the little ter was good at it. Couldn't fly a plane to save his life, but salute? Like shaved pussy.
