showing 92 now for the high. Rain in SA starts 1pm
Even if tomorrow is only 89 the average would only drop from 104.191 to 103.501, with 100+ forecast the rest of the month. And a lot of 103-105 forecast. NOAA is saying 94 now for tomorrow, which would drop the average to 103.728.

TS Harold just made landfall. 50 MPH tropical storm. I believe it was still a TD when I went to bed last night.
At least we will get guaranteed drought relief rainfall this time unlike TS Don in 2011.
Thought we're only getting 1/4 inch from this
I get nothing
We got 1/16th of an inch. Pffft.
The sweet smell of summer rain
I'm over on the west side by sea world and it's been pouring since 2:20pm. Definitely over an inch here.
Also, Sea World was open today, even the water park was open (no lightning threat), the park was pretty dead and the top two roller coasters were down unfortunately. Got to ride the other stuff and the water rides were pretty relaxing. Finally a day I could go outdoors and spend time outdoors for the first time since July frickin' 7th.
I like cool weather and rain better, but this'll do for August in Texas.
It's rained quite heavy here and the power and internet went off twice about an hour ago. Back on now.
Rain has stopped now. Still sticky AF outside. Pea soup. Guck.
Today's high of 91 took us to an average of 103.637 for August. So is the average for the next 9 days is 97.309 or higher August 2023 goes down as the hottest month ever in San Antonio, by average high temperature. Considering NOAA's 7 day forecast is 99, 102, 102, 102, 103, 100, 99 gotta think this is a stone cold lock as the tiest month until whatever summer 2024 throws at us.
This will be the hottest month of all time, but I don't believe 2024 will be above average at all, except for precipitation.
This year was an anomaly for sure, but the good news is that the worst is over.
DFW is getting it worse than us now.
The worst ain't over. We got 105s over the weekend again. The worst will be over when 98 is considered a hot day again.
I never believed 2023 would be anywhere near as hot after getting out of summer 2022, and instead it has been way worse. There is a clear trend line that summers are getting worse. I'd trade this year for 2011 quicker than a rabbit gets ed and I'd trade 2011 for 1998 in a second.
98 will be considered a hot day again centuries in the future after the remnant global population of 250 million masters nuclear fusion and can generate enough power to scrub the extra CO2 back out of the atmosphere.
Well we didn't get a "hot day" today. Didn't even sniff 100
Where do you prophesize the remaining 250M people will be living? On the north and south poles?![]()
1998 was below average I believe
2024 we will see tons of rain and relatively cool summer IMO
Might be the summer of Texas snow
Nope, 1998 broke a fifty year record for most 100+ days in San Antonio, at 36
Ah, I see.
The flooding wasn't until September and October.
That year should have been cool considering the super El Nino the previous winter. Sort of like 2015 to 2016.
I would think next year shall be cool and wet
Also expect lots of rain in SA this autumn too
