The high la udes. The low population numbers will be as much due to permanent low fertility as to mortality from climate catastrophes.
NOAA is forecasting local average rainfall for September-November
For October-December we're on the border line of average and a very slight positive anomaly in rainfall
October-December are forecast to be hotter than normal

"Good" day for exercise. A bit too much humidity but I will note the absence of intense heat from the asphalt.
baseline bum Thoughts on Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy saying in 2023 that climate change and global warming are a hoax? Perhaps he's on to something and it's true.
He's a con man
Do you believe he should go to jail for saying that?
Oh, it's over 100 again. Look at that. Currently 102 degrees
It appears we're now officially tied with last year for most triple-digit temperature days.
One more triple-digit day to go to tie the all-time record.
Sunday's forecast high is 105. Yeesh. When will it end?
My TWC forecast says that from Sept 2 - 8 it will be either 100 or 101 every day. Yeesh. But it's fall, damn it!
Fall is not til 3 weeks later
It's currently 105, baseline bum.
Time to bump the thread.
Technically speaking yes. But last year this time of year I spent entirely in Michigan and Ohio and when I went to the UP around Labor Day it felt like fall.
ing , the cold front Tuesday gives us one day below 100. And even then, only gets us to 97 on that day, which is still 2 degrees above historical average. We're really shooting for 70 days of 100+ this year.
Good analysis about "compressional heat" i.e. very humid heat
DFW seems to have the worst weather-related blackouts IMO
Tomorrow expected to reach 106.
Today we officially tied the all-time record for 100+ degree days, baseline bum
2023 at the top of the record books likely tomorrow.
Very fine indeed![]()
TD 10 forms in Caribbean. Forecast to be "Hurricane Idalia" but hit the very sparsely populated part of Florida.
If only Idalia could take Bugs' lead

My AC is steady on 68 degrees and running just fine, trucking through this time interval.![]()
One more step to 70 it looks like. Not sure if we'll get there but it'll be close I bet.
though, politically motivated, i.e. in similar vibe to the "Florida will turn blue eventually" futuristic satellite maps of the Gulf and ocean taking back the peninsula part of the state with rising sea levels.
I don't think we'll get to 70, but sixty for sure and sole possession of the all-time record
