I have no idea what you're on about now. Hitler died in 1945. Do you think he's still alive? There has been peace between Finland and Russia for 80+ years.

Russia could have tried again to invade in 2015 or 2008 or many other years without concern for Hitler.

    They didn't.
I just gave you one example.

Russia could've invaded Ukraine in 2000.

    But they didn't!

    Clearly they will never invade!

    Flawless logic!

I'm going to agree with Finland's implication that Russia will not respect treaties. You can go ahead and take Putin at his word.

You wrote that "Russia will be invading again in a few years just like last time." You failed to support this and now you're attacking strawman...

Russia and Finland have been at peace for 80+ years which is evidence that peace can exist. It's not a guarantee it will last forever but neither is writing Ukraine another big check.

They did just that in Ukraine. They're currently busy with that. They did that in Georgia before. It's what Russia does when you don't stop it.

Giving Ukraine the aid it needs to continue existing while ing over Putin is a great use of our money.

It took Putin's continued aggression to change Finland's mind about joining NATO. They learned. You won't because in the end it really doesn't matter to you. That's fine. Don't act like you're thinking of Ukraine's interests at all.

    They invaded Finland via Ukraine?

Ukraine is going to have to make its own peace deal. It couldn't defend Crimea and now it's lost it for good.

Please. He's conducting this war like America conducted the Vietnam War, and the screwball knew better before he ever went in there.

    Straight to Kyiv in 2014?

    Unending offensive?

You sure have a silly idea of warfare. No wonder your views are childlike.

Some here seem to think Putin wants the war to go on for years more. Because apparently he hasn't taken enough casualties already?

Putin got what he wanted. Our focus should be on ending the war and having Europe lead the effort to defend territory still controlled by Ukraine. We can then scale back our support.

How do you not understand that a ceasefire doesn't consume the resources of a hot war?

Zelensky doesn't want a ceasefire. We should want a ceasefire regardless of territorial concessions from Ukraine.

And Korea pays us to help support our presence and they buy billions is US defense products (F-35, etc.). The point is that it's not an "Israel" style model where we just write big checks to gift them. That's what Zelensky wants AND more.
How do you not understand that you said "forever war" and not you are just moving the goalposts?

Again the price has been demonstrably negligible and unlike South Korea there are no US boots on the ground.

They didn't aim for Kyiv in 2014. Why do you keep putting up strawman arguments? Is that your favorite distraction device?

invade verb (used with object), in·vad·ed, in·vad·ing.
    1. to enter forcefully as an enemy; go into with hostile intent:
    2. to enter like an enemy:

In Ukraine, we're talking about a "forever (hot) war"... Big Difference.

The price is not negligible. You only think it is because you're so accustomed to our country's out of control spending.

Right. They were no longer invading.

    They were occupying.

Thanks for looking up how you were wrong for me.

For months early on the Ukr KIA total was 6,600 and froze right there until they no longer posted the KIA totals months later.

& how will we EVER know the KIA's totals from BOTH sides? Never.

Again you added the hot part. IE moving the goalposts. I have no interest in arguing with regressive sophistry. You are determined in your want of belief.

    Have fun with your handwringing.

I've been arguing AGAINST a hot war in Ukraine and FOR a ceasefire in Ukraine. No moving the goal posts at all on that.

Zelensky's reference to the "Israel model" is basically us financing a forever hot war with rockets flying overhead. That's what it means. I don't want it.

There's a reason he's NOT talking about a "South Korea model".... because there is a cease fire there and Zelensky doesn't want one. He wants us to just write checks and donate endless weapons. I don't blame him but that's not in our interest.

Sounds like Zelensky is already contemplating Plan B: Fight a "Forever War" with Ongoing US Military, Financial, Technological & Humanitarian Aid.

    Ukrayinska Pravda
Bull . This is what you wrote which is exactly the status quo in S Korea.

You added the hot to differentiate and hold onto your opinion but given no US boots on the ground in Ukraine it is not substantive.

Biden wants to beat Putin, he doesn't give 2 s about Z, or, the Nazi's in Ukraine. Biden can do that (possibly) and (possibly) is more than good enough for right now.

It's a long way till next November.
