As part of its motion for partial summary judgment in the case, the attorney general’s office provided an estimated range of how much Trump had fraudulently inflated his net worth, saying he falsely boosted it by between $812 million to $2.2 billion (or 17-39%) in each year from 2011 to 2021.

A lawyer for Trump didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.


The lawsuit accuses Trump and his children Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump of creating more than 200 misleading evaluations of the company’s finances, as well as other forms of misrepresentation.
For example, the lawsuit alleges Trump falsely inflated the square footage of his apartment from 11,000 to 30,000, resulting in him declaring the apartment to be worth $327 million. That estimate would make the apartment worth significantly more than any apartment ever sold in New York City, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit, filed by Attorney General Tish James last year, seeks $250 million in damages and a lifetime bar on the Trumps from serving as officers or directors in any New York companies.

I am not a lawyer, but in my experience Motions for Summary Judgement are typically granted where there is not a dispute of the facts, or where going to trial would not change the understanding of the facts. So at that point, is merely a matter of how the law is applied to those facts. For Trump to defeat a motion for Summary Judgement (though his side may similarly move for summary judgement - this happens a lot, both parties move for SJ), he would have to show there is more evidence that would help his case. However, given the fact that trials are costly Trump may also want a SJ. Who knows. I just like reading rulings on judgements and SJ's are some of my favorite, but I'm just a nerd like that.

yeah, i cannot imagine trump team would ever want the motion granted as this takes their money and could basically give away trumps 250 mil

however, rarely do you see the evidence 99.9 percent in the prosecutions favor which is why she is filing a SJ - because the evidence is all already there in the do ents and his failure of a deposition/testimony and his repeated history of fraud -

i guess she is pointing out the obvious - which is: "is a trial really needed when we know all the facts already and there is ZERO factual defense of why he committed fraud?"

It’s definitely the beefiest work you can do in civil litigation other than appellate work. We just got one filed last Friday. Even on a fairly simple legal issue the work to get a decent msj is always an undertaking

Q. Where in the does one find court outcomes when the media closely follows a case....then just drops it.

Example Kream Jabbars son Adam Abdul Jabbar.
Assaulted a neighbor to the tune of a 10 knife wounds and the man almost dying at the entrance to ER.
Kreams money gets him assigned a super corrupt judge (verifiable history not just Fabbs opinion) and the gives him only 6 months. Against the vehement objections by the DA.

But wait, there's more. Kreams Jr's attys went for home confinement.
That's where the media ends. Dk if the pampered abuser got to serve his time at home or behind bars. How the can one find out?
When i contact the media outlets that ran the building stories, nothing but crickets.

As far as the law itself, 9 years max sentence for that crime seems pretty weak for what happened there.

As far as major newspapers I'm sure a fat check buying their Silence has been going on for ages. Cream Jr committed the crime in San Clemente. Their reporters are usually on top of everything local and were on this story all the way along. But then after the 6 months sentence was given and where it would be served was pending.. it's been absolute silence

If you know the jurisdiction, most courts (except those deep in the backwoods areas) have records searchable online. You may not be able to get a copy of the ruling without paying for it - but you should at least be able to find the outcomes.

Was thinking about this last night. No matter if I thought any elected official was the greatest ever at the position they held and a wonderful leader, never would I do the following things (ranked in order of bizarreness):

1) Put a bumper sticker on my car
2) Buy a hat
3) Fly a flag
4) Make my support of that person my entire personality

Some people are just really in' weird.

Edit: For 1-3, I mean specifically those things in support of a Political Candidate. It's one thing to get a free t-shirt, but it blows my mind that people pay actual money for this .
