if he wants to leave, I can totally see this happening if the Wemby progression is going quickly and it make sense for Giannis as well

And I don't really understand OKC other than they could throw a lot of assets over to Milwaukee in a S&T.

The whole thing screams huge speculation. We could probably find someone willing to say Giannis would be a great fit on all 30 teams in a trade or signing scenario, because he would.

personally i would hate to see giannis leave the bucks.
it would be nice to see star players stick with their original team.

BUT if he did leave, yeah that would be great for him to come to the Spurs.

Freaky would need to play this year and next to become an UFA in the summer of 25.

Cant see that happening but if it does we could welcome him for the 25-26 Spurs Championship season.

More realistically the Bucks will trade him if by the 24-25 deadline he refuses an extension.

Or Giannis could just sign there and play on a stacked team

Just watch, Miami is going to find some way to land him in free agency. They always seem to pull rabbits out their assess.

I am going to take a wait and see approach as to whether major free agents start seeing Okalhoma City as a desireable destination.

It’s probably the one place in the league, save maybe Cleveland, that we have an advantage in that area lol.

Media is already starting the "trade to LA" chants. It will be interesting to see how Lillard and Hardin play out. Both players have specific destinations they want to go to but the teams they want to go to have no assets to get them. I mean I don't see any package that LA will send to the Bucks that can be stomached and everything they give up would make the Lakers lose their contender status, even with Giannis.

I haven't watched much Giannis, has he developed any moves or is his game still just freak-athlete?

True. I forget their trajectory is pretty favorable.

Not just Freak, but all NBA stars thru the years have to have other players knock down shots when Star hits them with a wide open pass.

Bucks seriously sucked ass in this dept the last couple years.

So while yes, Freak still lowers shoulder and bullys to the rim too much, he has definitely added to his game. If he could finely tune a pull up midrange he'd be dynomite.
Regardless, if the bricks keep coming when he is double and triple teamed it wont matter.
    Wilt got burned.
Timmy Dunks got completely burned when for example 43% no pressure treys Matty Bonners nutts shriveled up to 22% in the playoffs.

He'll be a Bucks lifer. I like what he is doing here though, sending a message to the FO not to take him for granted, putting pressure on them to keep improving the team around him. I expect Wemby to eventually do something similar.

I am probably one of the very rare people who does not want Giannis. I think he's a great player, I just don't think he fits on the Spurs. He is an athleticism based player, and he is in his 30's. I don't see his dominance lasting more than 2 or 3 more years. And even if he can maintain his MVP level play for another 5 years, the Spurs would still require playmakers and shooters around him, at this point the Spurs have neither. By giving up what would undoubtedly be a load of draft capital, the Spurs would not likely have much to upgrade in either need.

I also don't really see how Wemby would fit with Giannis. And I am quite certain the Spurs are counting on building around Wemby.

He's 28, but I get the gist and mostly agree. Of course I'd still take him because of the talent and asset he is, but he wouldn't be my preference.

    It's not going to happen though . . .

if Giannis wanted he can go wherever he wants. it only requires a trade if he wants to play there as early as the 24-25 season. sure, the bucks would do what they can to trade him if he's told them he's not signing an extension, but that doesnt automatically mean he's guaranteed to sign an extension wherever they decide to trade him to

im not going to say he SHOULD do that, because he's be leaving a ton of money on the table, and that's his business. but if his top priority really was to win, and didnt believe that milwaukee is the place, there's a conversation to be had if his best bet is signing somewhere with cap space or being traded to a team and partially gutting them in the process

then again, its not every day that a team ready to win-now has that kind of cap space
