Finally watched some of this on the available stream and that Paxton attorney is a real piece of work. This witness was actually holding up pretty well, despite all the false insinuations that asshole attorney was throwing out.
If the witness was actually not a fascist repuke himself - he could have really exposed that attorney and paxtons corruption if the witness actually wanted to fight back. Instead he was really really patient and respectful-despite this attorney trying to spin the case and accuse this witness of a COUP against Paxton.
"Why didn't you just go to the General?" "Why did you run to the FBI in secret?" "Because you wanted his job, it was a COUP!"
I would have shot right back, "I witnessed crimes being committed and my boss accepting bribes and my boss asking a donor $$ to hire his mistress so she could be close to my boss and I reported these possible crimes to the FBI, the way the law requires I do"
