From all reports Kiev is fine and still thriving.
So culture is safe. Other regions Ukraine leadership made the decision to not handover land in exchange for massive casualties and cities left in shambles.

Russia isn't looking to take on a foreign nation. They learned that lesson with the USSR

Why did they try to take over Kiev then?

Jesus, you are like 10% as smart as you think you are.

This is what he said last November.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...ine-negotiate/

When he talks about how "difficult" it would be to completely eject Russia and then about "windows" for political solutions, it sounds to me like he is very open to negotiations that will end in lost territory for Ukraine. I don't know how to read that much differently. I just think we're at the point now where we should actually be pushing for it.
Why do you think Putin will abide by ANY agreement?

Is there any such agreement he has actually followed?

    You don't believe in Jesus.

If Ukraine didn't fight back they would have a puppet government today but they would still exist along with culture, traditions, language etc.

You went too extreme in your OP. But I have the patience with you to correct you.

I've explained this in the recent past. In the East we all fought against the Reich, discussed it with our grandparents. No one is trying to wipe out another Slav. Control and manipulate - yes. Polska controlled Moscow at one point and didn't go on some killing spree. The Holodomor is the specific counterpoint.

I want what? A fair solution that won't require rebuttals in the near future. My definition of fair solution is changing.

What agreement has Putin adhered to?

What makes you think he will negotiate anything in good faith? Because you share some DNA? You think you're in the same tribe?

He hasn't been included in many. Rather shunned by the West.

I tend to believe he could have leveled some Ukranian cities and the West ally response would have remained the same. It's fair to credit him with restraint.

    You didn't answer the quesiton.

How many agreements has he adhered to after armed conflicts?

He tried to take over the entire country. You want to give him credit for not nuking Kyiv.

He's completed foreign agreements. You are insinuating specific agreements with specific nations. Just say so.

I disagree. He targeted specific regions he wanted to steal and is still trying to. On a scale of 1-10 I think Russia has been 6.5 in terms of aggressiveness and commitment. IMO ally help forced Russia to alter plans and leave reserves for emergency defense/West counter attack

Post all the agreements he was involved in after armed conflicts. Does Syria count?

The reason we continue to support is because we believe Russia military has another level. Otherwise shouldn't we step aside and see if they can sustain themselves?

You are looking at this from cheerleader perspective. I have Polish & EU passport. I'll be the one soldiering up and this old region holds grudges. Meaning my blood line.

I'm satisfied with how the conflict has been handled and for better & worse don't see any major events on the horizon.

    ? What is so unbelievable?

Yah atleast 50% of my family back home is outspoken in support. 1/4 is silent supporters and roughly 5 or so (typically living/working abroad in EU) silent question the direction and/legislature taken in Poland.

Vast majority of Polska still supports. General consensus is we will fight (to a point) to keep a buffer zone from Russia.

Sidenote: overall few are taking to social media to speak their mind. Polska is a society focused on community issues - there are demonstrations often when I visit but national & global topics are brushed aside as there is little alternative. The nation is united on these topics.
