Congress remained on track Friday morning to trigger a government shutdown this weekend, as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy suffered another high-profile defeat when the House failed to advance a last-ditch stopgap bill to extend government funding beyond Saturday.
Twenty-one Republicans crossed over to vote with all the Democrats against the bill for a vote of 198-232.

Republicans in congress have said shut down the border or shutdown the government,,,you democrats choose,,,democrats chose to shutdown the government. Simple as that. Republicans have repeatedly asked for border support and immigration reform and democrats have refused time and time again,,,,same reason they defunded the Trump wall,,,,but the liberal media and the democrat voters(sheep) that follow them say its the republicans fault,,,,,lmao,,,democrats would rather send money to Ukraine to defend their borders and democrats cant deny that,,,,
