I know it’s a good problem to have, but, damn, how is OKC gonna pay ALL these guys.
    Don't worry.

    They've always handled that well.

I think they're top 3 or 4 in the west this year.

Their cap situation is pretty good. They've been able to get their top players without being on very high rookie scale contracts. Only Holmgren is on that #2 scale.
They have some time before they have to extend their youngsters, but it’ll come quick and around the same time they can extend SGA again. Good problems to have, but curious to see how they manage it in a few seasons.

Definitely think they should be in the playoff picture this year.

I didn’t get to see the game. Only thing that jumped out to me from the box score was lack of rebounding from the bigs.

Not an issue or was this apparent during the game? Bassey stood out as the only guy grabbing boards.

    Any opinions?

Wemby is everything I expected, and more. Z Collins’ defense leaves a lot to be desired.

I do think they'll burn past a number of teams this year. The Homgren-SGA duo will be hard to handle.

Beyond those two, they will have some questions to answer. I'm not sure Giddey is a long-term solution (but could be), etc. They're getting good, scrappy players, but do they have enough to push them over into contention? They will have great picks upcoming from other teams to help.

IMO, the Spurs played a style of offense tonight that centered around feeding our bigs a LOT. That’s only warranted for Wemby obviously but there aint no way in Collins should be getting more touches than our wings like Julian and Vassell. This was an off night for those two but i feel they would have eventually gotten into rhythm had they had a couple more shot attempts. This offense will be maximized when it’s Wemby + our talented scorers on the wing. Collins has to stop thinking he’s Hakeem out there or take it personal when another big like Chet is schooling him.

Rebounding is going to be an issue. Sochan and Wembanyama aren't great rebounders and Collins is just okay.

    Quick review of each player:

Tre 6/10 - started off great and then Cason played suffocating defense on him and then it was never the same.
Wesley 7/10 - solid throughout and actually looked competent with the starters. Too soon to say something like “he’s the next Dejounte”, but that was a promising game he had. It was the version of him before he got injured last year. If he keeps it up, then he keeps that backup point role.
Vassell 4/10 - the only thing I see improved from him is his passing. So far, I havent seen this newfound strength help out his game. It’s not a bad outlook, but for those thinking he’s Paul George or something… nope. He can still be a force on offense and he will definitely be better than last year.
Collins 6/10 - I’ve said enough about this guy. Pass the ball, man
    Wemby 10/10 - nuff said
Cedi 5/10 - sometimes played bad defense but has a lot of utility on offense
Branham 6/10 - played like a 6th man of the year and then disappeared
Bassey 7/10 - great role player

A lot of good to take, the bad can be fixed by Sochan playing.

think Collins getting more shots than Champagjie is just fine. Think Vassell needed to get involved a little more but outside of that not much to complain about.

if you can put two good defenders out there the bench with Osman and McDermott is gonna be damn fun. Especially if Wesley is going to play with that good of decision making.liked Bassey with them as well.
ti make it work think Sochan or Wemby had to be out there’d that’s mediocre to good teams. Bad teams you might get away with a lesser defensive unit.

biggest bright spot outside Wemby was Wesley. Easily the best game I’ve ever seen him play. If he can build on that he’s the starter by February.

Victor really lived up to the hype tonight. Already doing a lot of stuff very naturally but still with tons of room to grow as he learns.

Spurs fans have so much to look forward to.

I think the biggest positive for Wemby is something no one’s talking about… he didn’t become winded as he’s commented before is one of his weaknesses. He’s definitely improved his endurance. A great, great sign.

Brightest spot was Wemby obviously but Blake Wesley and Bassey also had solid outings.

The Spurs win easily if Bertans doesn't go off with the most pointless revenge game ever. Not that it matters, just saying.

Wemby was leaking out a little too much for my liking. Would like for him to be down in the painting gobbling up more of those rebounds vs trying to get easy points on the other end. I also think he took a lot of "bad" shots but I understand it's just preseason and Pop is trying to get a feel for his style of play and his comfortable spots on the floor. With all of that being said, I can see him easily averaging 25+ ppg this year if Pop gives him free reign to.

Wesley is not a point guard ( can’t dribble + poor vision ); looks robotic. Tre looked shook when the defense tightened up.

OKC? Except for trading away Harden for bits and pieces because they didn't want to pay him.
