Yeah I love his energy and his vision, but he has to get major minutes in Austin.
If Pop plays him as a rotation guy, then he's Bryn Forbes. If Pop plays him as a role player, he's a contributor with trade value at the deadline.

That first half the starting lineup out there really stepped on the rockets throat. Felt like they purposely eased off in the 2nd half because it's preseason.
I feel like Graham, Birch and is (Bediako still on the roster?) These guy's don't make the final cut. Should have the roster at 14 or 15 players
Bediako and Birch are the cuts, imo. Graham will be on the trading block all season. Pretty telling he didn't even get minutes tonight.
They only need one cut. And cutting Bediako doesn't count.
Not sure Johnson works with this first unit.
You can see why Pop sat the guys he did in the opening games. The Spurs are going to have to recalibrate to Wemby being the first option. That means both that the other players will have to learn to find him and that Wemby will have to learn where to go to make himself a good target. I'm not at all married to this starting lineup, but I wouldn't write off any combo at this point.
We've got no one to attack the rim from the wing spots. We've got Vic but this pre-season makes me think there is still going to be some severe ugliness on the court at times this season. Which is fine because truthfully we need the lotto again to draft the second star. Need a flashy, solid body, athletic slasher who can handle and pass, throw and catch lobs, do iso buckets sometimes when Vic needs a little attention off of him.
The ahhs and ooohs from the crowd on that wemby nutmeg sound like some old Roman coliseum. It's like a circus reaction.
Wemby will do something crazy every night
The whole nutmeg sequence is a total freak show
The steal, nutmeg and pass to bassey is some heads up .
The defense in the first half was top 5 defense in the NBA tbh. They could find themselves there by the end of the season
Defensive effort was there with the main rotation guys, I thought Devin looked especially locked in which is pretty impressive considering he was on fire in the 1st half.
I don't know that the Rockets are any good, but that defense was leaps and bounds better than at any point last year. The rebounding, the effort, the energy were all terrific.
To me, it’s all about how a team or a player looks. People put too much stock into compe ion when you can half the time make an assessment on something if you have an eye for it. The defense is going to be much improved this year, all I know is that.
Let me clarify this that it’s only possible if McD doesnt bring down the entire defense by himself when he comes off the bench
By the way, Branham started off nice but he was one of the worst players in the second. It was always in his vicinity where the Spurs would get outrebounded. He needs to learn how to ing box out.
also the dumbass passes by McDermott
Definitely tanked on defense last year.
As said, the defense of the starting five looks good! Wemby's bad shot selection made this the least exciting preseason game he partiipated in to watch so far. Its great that he has a nice stroke from the FT line as well. The refs seem to protect him pretty well.
I hope Cedi comes off the bench before Doug.
2 seasons in Austin and he’ll come out as a PG![]()
You know that’s what Pop’s team is capable of. He just showcase bench players once he already saw what he needed to see in a pre-season
So I guess that settles who Spurs starting PG is
there was so much whining on the forum that patfo didn’t pick this genius in the draft
Still not a good flex. The Spurs picked Josh Primo.
