Nott sure why we are letting Sochan run the point. I haven't seen anything from him that makes me think he's a good point guard or playmaker. Mamu on the other hand has far better court vision and play making skills and he is a much better perimeter threat. Aside from pissing people off what does Sochan do better than Mamu?

Sandro busts his butt and has skills but isn't in the same universe as a defender. This line up is going to be great, just need to figure parts out. Collins can facilitate from the high post. They're all going to facilitate.

That seems to be the idea.

I love Mamu's energy and BBIQ, but his ceiling is bench player. Milwaukee's not going to waive a miminum salary 6'11" C with passing skills if he has even a remote shot at getting minutes beside Giannis.

Definitely, but to be fair, they only released him and signed Leonard because they were a contender with 3 proven bigs, only one of whom is a legit C, so they wanted (perceived) insurance in case something happened to one.

Tangent, but iirc we got Mamu, Champs, Cedi, and Basset all from the scrap pile? Not bad at all.

I know Philly could REALLY use Bassey and Champ right now.

Spurs got Cedi PLUS a SRP (I believe) for facilitating the Max Strus trade.

I'll add Devonte Graham, who they got plus four SRPs (I believe) for trading away Josh Richardson. Graham is a good dude who will step in as needed and otherwise won't complain. I expect there to be some games where we go stagnant and he'll start dropping bombs.

Sochan isn't playing "point guard". He's just bringing the ball up the court most of the time, but not all of the time. The Spurs are experimenting, which they should be doing, to see how that line up would work. Turns out it looked great on defense, maybe okish on offense though I'm not convinced there is enough shooting or playmaking. But it's hard to have a talent like Sochan and bury him on the bench behind Collins and Wemby, so they need to see what else they can do with him.
