He totally skipped his senior year in football. Then sat at Ohio State. Comes to UT and is supposed to be great after not playing for 2 fkn years?
No excuses now though. Its his second year. Well yes excuses now, it looks like the same shoulder he got hurt in the 1st qt. against Alabama last year.
The thing is his QB presence and footwork in the pocket are horrible unless he has really good blocking. He really does have a great arm but so what.
He isnt even the best QB in the Big 12, probably 4 or 5. But what the pros see is that arm and they think they can fix him. imo good QBs in college must be good on the run whether throwing or just making people miss running. Ewers is not that great a college QB.
Now its gonna be really neat if Ewers is out for a while. Because Arch Manning is by FAR the best athlete among the UT Qb's (its not even close) and he has the most accurate arm. Murphy has the strongest arm but is really slow. Ewers it the most experiences with what will now be a full year of games.

Left tackle as well. He ripped #91 Ethan Burke's helmet completely sideways. Burke went up to the ref pointing at his helmet and he could barely see because the side of his helmet was covering his face. Up to the point where the UH kid ripped #8 helmet completely off in front of the ref, Houston had ZERO penalties. 2/3 of the way thru the 3rd quarter. I dont know if the graphic that showed that on TV was accurate, but its not surprising.
The spot on Houston's 4th down play was awful.
