This is the real game thread tbh. Doncic and Powell are questionable for the Mavs, Collins is questionable for the Spurs. I really hope he plays, otherwise we'll have spacing issues
Pop's usual shtick is to bring someone from the deep bench to start. Keep Bassey in his normal bench spot, and start Mamu. Wemby can cover for him on D, and he'll space the floor.

keys to the game will be to expose the Mavs fragile big men. Spurs should try to get to the rim as much as possible especially Keldon and Sochan. If Zach is playing it's gon be a lot of mouse in the house plays for him and the Spurs need to crash the glass hard to win the rebounding battle. Most exciting match up will be Wemby vs. Grant Williams. Sochan will probably guard Kyrie unless Luka plays, then it's most likely Vassell. I could also see Pop put Wemby on Luka or Kyrie if one of them goes off on us.

wemby's just gotta stay out of foul trouble. love that he tries to contest everything, deflect every pass, but only as long as its not causing him to be unavailable for stretches of the game
both kyrie and luka are adept at baiting fouls

Do you think Pop still tanks? Was he practicing in the Preseason when we blew all those early starts?
No. Spurs are not tanking to start the season. They will try to win as much as possible for as long as it makes sense, consistent with the long-term development goals for players. Pop was just limiting minutes for starters and playing with lineup combinations for the bench.
I guess I'm to tankpilled from last season
