Remember: Pop doesn't care much about the reg season. Either we're a playoff team or we aren't. Either way, these games, especially early season games, are just a continuation of the preseason. it's a way to experiment with Wemby and see what he can do at a high level already. And keeping him healthy obviously. Some of his shots aren't going to be ideal by design.
I really dont like that call in the nba. Van Fleet did not even try to make the shot...he just ran right into the defender and tossed the ball in the air. Never made sense why if you are not actually trying to make a shot its called a shooting foul.

wemby has to set a better screen for vassell there. you are down to about 6 on the clock. cant set a half-hearted screen and then just stand 5 feet away from him
The Spurs need to get the ball to Wemby down low way more.

They just need to get him the ball within 5 feet of the basket -- at that point, it's over.
Surely, that will become apparent and become de rigueur over time.
I remember our pre-draft scouting reports had Vassell's ceiling pegged as Danny Green. He's already shown flashes that he can be so much more.
