The result of this trade is the waiving of Danny Green. Anyone want him as a vet to add to the Spurs young group?
Bring Danny Green home! He is a good defender and we need a vet with all of these young players!

Harden is a cancer and will destroy the Clippers LOL! Westbrick & Harden two ball hogs of all time on one team! Hate that whole team with Quitter leading the pack!

Certainly not, the current team is already too distracted.

Danny might be good as a media commentator. He used to be the player who most often did postgame interviews.

I think Embiid basically killed his career, unfortunately. If he does end up retiring, I'd love for the Spurs to bring him in to work with the guys or at least talk to them about his experience learning to be an NBA player playing to his strengths in a championship system. I hope he retires a Spur. But he's not even the player he was two years ago, let alone six.
    He’s the current MVP

Yup they’re the 2000 Spurs, “boring” but just do the work.

I wonder if behind the scenes, Joel Embiid is not especially a guy that other players enjoy being around. Jimmy Butler left, which I think was such a disaster for Philly, but doesn't get talked about much. I don't think I've ever heard a single teammate say one bad word about Jokic, and that's one very underestimated aspect of being a star player. I'd make the same comparison with Duncan and Garnett.

when you said embiid killed his career, he thought you meant embiid killed his own career

    Your post says Embiid though

But Danny Green I dunno. I think there were times he dissed on Spurs just the way he says things about Pop and the Spurs organization. It’s not just me, but some other people also think so. Spurs pretty much ressurected his career and somewhat developed him after he’s already been cut-off. He got a ring and became a 3 and D specialist, a lot because of Spurs giving him a shot. So I expect him to be more grateful when he talk about his time with the Spurs, is all.

I mostly root for players and teams I like to have success or show progress, but I'll be very happy if Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden all retire ringless.

And Kawhi not getting anymore ring, the least handing Clips their 1st one could catapult him to one of the all time best.. that

Your post says Embiid though .
Yes, in response to a post talking about Danny Green, I said, "Embiid ruined his career". I didn't say "Embiid sabotaged his own career", which seems to be how you read it. Embiid flopped onto Danny's knee, which is why he was out last year. The rest of the post makes no sense if I'm talking about Embiid, who's never been a role-player on a championship team and who retiring a Spur would not be significant at all.

Anyways, the Spurs got multiple years of below-market value from Green. He doesn't owe them anything but has been a good envoy for them since leaving. He doesn't have to pretend like they gave him a career any more than any other player. He earned his career and reinforced that by winning two rings in other places and making $100 Million over his career. He can be annoyed that the Spurs seemingly made it a mission to trade him in 2018, though I haven't seen him actually talk about that.

It's ok since only one or two of them will be in uniform by the time the playoffs roll around.
That might actually be good for the Clips too.

Hopefully it’s Kawhi going down lol not to wish any injuries but if inevitably somebody’s in street clothes …

if things don’t work out well for the Suns right out of the gate, the rumor is that Durant will force his way to Clippers to reunite with Harden and Westbrick and joining Kawhi and George he thinks they might have enough talent to finally to be worthy of his presence.

The Clippers probably won't win the championship (durability/ego) and I don't se how anyone involved could feel a sense of accomplishment if they do, but it's still a worthwhile gamble because of the infusion of talent, specifically playmaking/shooting combination in a lead ball handler that they've long lacked.

Meanwhile, the 76ers will probably trade some of the expiring's + middling draft capital for a rental such as DeRozan, Dinwiddie or Burks by the trade deadline to attempt to get back to puncher's chance status, but despite the max cap space (Siakam?), it's hard to see this not ending with Embiid requesting a trade next off season.

Be interesting to see how they structure their starting lineup. If all of the big four are starters, does Paul George slide into the PF role?

They were already planning to slide S bag to PF when Mann got healthy.

Trickle down effect: George becomes more of an off ball player, Westbrook becomes sixth man, Powell loses mpg/usage, Hyland falls out of the rotation.

harden is still harden. the good with the bad.
