The record that the Spurs "deserve" to have based on point differential and such is closer to 1-3 than 2-2, but it's still too early to draw a lot of conclusions based on that.
If the refs didn't put Victor in foul trouble all game 1, a number of earlier possessions would have been much different. It might not have been down to the wire.
The team is making a lot of mistakes and needs to learn, but they're .500. Moving on.
Fair enough. In the end what is “deserved” is irrelevant and the more wins we can steal early in the season while we’re still figuring things out, the better. If we can manage to have a ~40% win percentage the first half of the season that’s a major win in my book.

It means a lower draft pick when we're going to want that high draft pick on draft day. Spurs are still in need of adding top level talent.
It's best if the Spurs can come away from next year's draft with a future all star level player.
Basing anything off point differential after four games is beyond re ed, particularly with a 40 point loss.
Spurs have played three hard teams -- Dallas is playing very well -- and then Houston. After tonight, things will get a bit easier.
Point differential was the wrong term, I should have said "based on how close the games have been".
With two minutes left in each game:
- The Spurs led the Mavs by 1, Mavs ball. I'll go with a 50% chance the Spurs win there, for 0.5 "expected wins" (used loosely).
- The Spurs trailed the Rockets by 1, Rockets ball. 0.4 expected wins.
- The Spurs trailed the Clippers by a million. 0 expected wins.
- The Spurs trailed the Suns by 3, Suns ball. 0.3 expected wins.
That's an expected record of 1.2-2.8, and it isn't affected by how much the Spurs lost to the Clippers by.
Looking at this with 2 minutes left is admittedly arbitrary, but I think it illustrates the point well enough.

An interesting mix of teams coming up, different strengths, not any of them worldbeaters but cn each be difficult. The T-Pups will be fascinating with Gobert and KAT.
