Man, it'd be nice to have a coach that actually gave a . The old man knows he's absolutely untouchable and hasn't cared for about 5 years now.
Pop: who cares about basketball when there’s wars going on around the world?

I want a coach that’s afraid to be fired! Too comfortable. Too much job security. It’s time.
I'm in between, you want a coach that has the freedom to make the correct decisions and not the expedient ones to keep his job. It feels like the Spurs coaches and the FO think they have all the time in the world though, i don't want to wait 10 years for the Spurs to become relevant again.

Let's not go overboard. Dame is a 33-year old point guard that relies on quickness to be effective. He's owed $45 million this year, 48 million, the following year, and 58 million after that and then $63 million. He will cost you your best draft picks and a starter. So you will pay a PG that is 36 years old 63 million dollars and he won't be worth half of that. All so you can pair his last two declining, but usable years with a 19 year old that will not really start to hit his true potential until year 3. The Spurs made the right move to pass and Dame would not want to be here playing hard enough to elevate this team to an 8th seed and a first round sweep assuming they win their playin game.

The Spurs made the right move in trying to get CP3, who would have cost them nothing and is on an expiring deal, but he wanted to go to a contender and not the Spurs. If the Spurs were trying to make the playoffs, they would have kept Payne, who would have been a good PG to have on the team. When they let him go, it was clear that they are going to play the long, long game.

So get rid of Keldon and keep Sochan? This board sometimes.
Package both I don’t give a . Sochan is 20 though and being forced by pop to play out of position so I’ll give him a little slack

This team looks flat out stupid.

Constant terrible dribbling to a whack handoff back to the dribbler, awful passes out of bounds, guys not cutting, no one on the same page, blown inbounds repeatedly. Everyone getting in each other's way because no one is running the same set is what it feels like to watch this team.

And there doesn't seem to be any coaching up. Or coaching at all. The lineup and rotations have been pretty much the same through 10 games for one of the worst teams in the league. The only 'experimenting' seems to have been decided on in camp and that's it. No one even gets pulled for dumb mistakes. Branham seems to make 2-3 buffoonish plays a game where the popof 20 years ago would have blown up on him, now he just sits there remembering old french poetry and wine.

Now that Derrick White has been away from Pop long enough people finally see how good he is. There was a Philadelphia podcast last week lamenting that the Celtics "got Derrick White for nothing". And they're probably right. Blake Wesley, rollover contracts and seconds and a swap that will probably never go through really is getting nothing for Derrick White, who Pop spent an entire year limiting to 23 minutes a game off the bench because he couldn't ever play White and Murray together.

You don't understand. Pop had to start Bryn those 82 games and play him those many minutes because playing your two best guards at the same time just wasn't fair to the team.

Apparently "experimenting" wasn't a thing then when DJ and DWhite were on the team together

Spurs should have won this game. They were playing team on the road in a back to back game. Huge advantage to the home home.

Im ok not getting lillard -

im also not cliff jumping after 10 games -
i was pointing out the suicidal cliff jumpers here who on the team every play every loss every single night

those same posters gave those same reasons for NOT trying to improve with lillard -

    TWO YEARS?

that is TWO YEARS the spurs would have had a pg for wemby who would consistently put wemby in a position to dominate

Pop needs to start reigning Wemby in. 7 turnovers + his Antoine Walker routine… there’s a lot going wrong around him but Wembys gotta be part of the solution, not the problem

What would a competent young-ish pg cost us really? The Spurs are looking for a facilitator not an all NBA first teamer.
