Sochan lost his position to Wemby.
He either goes to the bench or gets packaged in a trade.
He's literally been sabotaged by his over the hill coach that's been playing him out of position. It's like if the old decided to play TP at C and you complained that he's not a good enough interior defender![]()

Can he ask for trade now? If so I won't be shocked.
At his position? A lot of things, actually. It's not his fault the worst coach in the NBA is forcing him to play out of position.
When I said spurs need a PG, I don't mean to contend or even reach the playoffs, I mean just to settle the rest down and keep the score respectable. All of your ""ugly" points are directly related to being weak/thin at the pg spot, Ill give pop the benefit of the doubt that he thought sochan could handle it but it's clear he can't.. if this continues everyone is going to be running for the doors out, losing for development is fine but getting destroyed only develops resentment and frustration
This is a lot more level headed and rational than the dumb s calling Pop the worst coach in the league.
Too bad he doesn’t have his skills or desire
We would have been better off getting the 5th pick and putting Ausar Thompson through the normal rookie treatment. At least that might have forced Pop to attempt to coach.
The sit back and watch wemby show continues
He's pretty clearly the worst coach on the league right now. I can't think of any other coach that is sabotaging his own team as blatantly as Pop is doing right now.
-No other coach would have Sochan playing PG.
-No other coach would have Wemby aimlessly wandering around the perimeter 90% of the time.
-No other coach would have no set plays for their franchise player.
-No other coach would have these weird ass rotations that make no sense.
Only we can up a wet dream classic spurs
It’s a 20 dollar per month subscription. Cancelling and not renewing are the same thing. It’s splitting hairs, but either way, I don’t care if they feel it and I don’t feel like I “showed them.” I like the organization. Just airing my dissatisfaction with the entertainment value of the team, on the Spurs forum, you know, where the venting goes.
Spurs needed to jump in on that Duren trade like Detroit did. I can't believe it only cost them two lottery protected firsts. Spurs had enough to get that done.
Spurs fo is to blame for this team's construction. They did nothing to bring in additional talent after they landed Wemby.
The front office played it super conservative with the thought of let's just see what we have and most in this forum were on board with that thinking and now are compalining when they see the product on the floor.
Spurs neeed to trade either Sochan or Wemby ASAP.
I was firmly on the Sochan 'PG' bandwagon to start the year.
I believe now I may unwittingly be in 'Thelma and Louise' territory...

Yup. 11 games in now and all Spurs fans across all social media are starting to ask the question if the Sochan experiment is inhibiting growth of every individual player, vs creating new possibilities for team basketball. You can see it on Sochan’s face that he doesn’t believe he can do it. This is what I was afraid of when the off-season ended and we all realized that we have a total of 1 backup PG on our roster; what does that offense look like. It looks like this!
This is such a disingenuous take. He’s not blatantly sabotaging his team. With that said I don’t like the experiment either but it’s not like we’re 30 games in. One thing that I wouldn’t want to see is us tossing assets around aimlessly trying to fill the pg void with questionable trades.
If I had to take a pragmatic guess I’d say they’ll look hard at the trade landscape closer to the deadline as things become more workable the closer you get to the deadline.
Even adding an all star probably wouldn’t propel us deep into the playoffs so it makes little sense to plug holes with secondary players simply to make things more aesthetically pleasing to people like you.
We’re not ringing this year. So let’s not leverage the house out of the gate by making desperation trades.
I’d never quit on my team after 10 games. I also wouldn’t pay monthly if the subscription saves me money as an annual buy but I get your point.
Win or lose I’ll watch my team.
Nobody is asking for a swing the fences trade
People literally just want more than 1 competent PG on the roster.
Quickly becoming my favorite side topic of the season. We are clearly gonna suck but so long as neph and gang sputter with 4 sure fire HOFers, I'm good. Lakers being mid at the end of Brons career is icing on the cake.
Puts in perspective what Becky, Messina and the other veteran coaches he had were doing, probably some heavy lifting in terms of schemes…. I haven’t watched for the past couple years bc I am not subscribing to NBA league pass to watch a bad spurs team lead a tankathon but this season they are showing on national tv so I am finally watching them again.
It’s fairly obvious they don’t have a talented guard that they can play off of. I know they had hopes with Primo, but b4 taking “IT” out he didn’t seem like that guy to me either.
They need a talented guard like the desert needs water, but besides that, and specially if you don’t have that, you at least need an offensive system.. problem is that those are built around stars and Spurs don’t have one. Wemby can already do some things really well but he’s too light to dominate specially if you don’t look for him early, as soon as he grabs position… meaning you have to look for him all the time and only if he’s doubled pass to whoever is open… seems easy to say, but alas… I don’t know offensively what actions they are running.
There’s really not a lot out there unless you want to part with a 1st. At least not this early. I don’t even mind a hard swing if it’s worth it. No ones selling this early though.
At this point the experiment really just buys a little time… at the expense of internet peril. I suppose.
But to take your point seriously why would we give up a 1st for a “competent pg”? When the pick really carries more value at the trade deadline if not the offseason.
I don’t want to look better on paper at the expense of all this draft capital we’ve ac ulated. Especially if we’re not that close to the right side of the playoff picture.
Just look at the team that we played tonight. They didn’t build that slightly better than mediocre squad in one season. It’s like 3 years in the making.
Again, I'm not saying they part with their '24 first rounder for a PG. Even the "not a lot out there" is miles better than what the Spurs currently have at the position. ing trash ass Killian Hayes would be a massive upgrade for this team and you could probably get him for a top 55 protected pick
This Point Sochan experiment has been so f'n bad and detrimental that Jeremy getting hurt for a long period of time would probably be a net positive both for him and the club's outlook tbh. Anything to keep him from running the offense and f'n over everybody else on the team including himself.
