The GOOD
- Cedi lookin like Kobe Bryant out there. Good for you Cedi.
- KJ alongside Cedi were the only ones that looked ready to bring any passion tonight. Keldon with 22/10/5 on 56% shooting, can’t ask for much more from him.
- Bassey with 12 rebounds (4 Off) and 4 blocks! Some frustrating misses but overall a good game and isn’t gonna let Mamu steal his minutes easily. I still maintain Bassey is our most consistent player.
- Minus the missed alley-oop at the end, Cissoko passed the eye test for me. Good D, good court awareness, and excellent passing ability as always.
The BAD
- Zach with a forgettable night shooting 4/11. He had a couple big shots but overall looked outmatched out there.
The UGLY
- Disappointed with Victor’s lack of aggression. He was trying to play like KD tonight finessing his way through everything. Backed out of position from the paint to the arc way too many times. Felt like he was afraid of getting physical down low.
- On that note, our whole team I guess just doesn’t feel comfortable passing Vic the ball when he’s center low in the paint. They can get him on the elbows but I’m seeing that not comfy yet when he’s got position low center. Hopefully Pop is drilling them in practice bc that could get us 4-10 extra pts per night.
- You know who’s not a point guard? Jeremy Sochan. He’s a SF/PF with good passing ability! Was another rough night watching the experiment. 29 min, 8/8/1 on 3/12 shooting. I am praying for Jeremy, oof.
- You know who is a point guard? Tre Jones! It’s exciting when he enters the game knowing that fact. But then you quickly remember he’s not the best point guard. He has his nights but tonight was not one of them. Lots of dumb mistakes and hero ball (nothing worse than Tre Jones hero ball).
OVERALL Pop is saying he’s happy with the progress tonight despite the loss. I see where he’s coming from, we fought back a few times and made some good plays, and the Clips just have so much more experience on us. But I’m hoping that Victor is getting some sort of coaching on getting into the paint. At minimum Vic can figure it out on tape. Would’ve also liked to see Mamu but I’m betting he’s set for Wed.
