I see. Cooking stats nonsensically to aggrandize a number that doesn't look significant enough on its own.

We freaked out over 5000 people and I am sure that Gazans will almost to a man be affected but what does that have to do with how an objective observer evaluate the situation?

If anything that bridge has already crossed. I also do not think culpability is remotely cut and dry.
helping people to understand the scale of destruction and death seems to be a fundamental level of evaluation to me

You're beating your head against a brick wall erected by CNN, MSNBC, FOX, et al. Within 48 hours of the Japanese sneak att...the Gaza sneak attack on the Jews decisions were made by Biden thru the State Dept., about how it would go from that precise time till forever and a day. They'll be nary deviation of even a millimeter. NOTHING!

Not really. You are making the scale of destruction 100s of times what it actually is.

    Gaza is tiny.

80% displacement of the total population of a place is drastic. So is 1% war mortality over 2 months.

Israel is making Gaza uninhabitable for those displaced. Most will have no homes to return to, the places they were told were safe are being bombed, and in the meantime, the whole population is being denied clean water, fuel and food.

Schools, hospitals, universities, places of worship and government buildings -- civil society in total -- are being demolished.

It's de facto collective punishment and ethnic cleansing. Totally disproportionate, indiscriminate and barbaric.

Israel is also supporting/turning a blind eye to settler pogroms and violent disposessions in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

All of this is strategically short-sighted. None of it will make Israel, or Jews, safer in the medium to long term. Quite the opposite, imho.

Sure but in the reality is that Gaza is tiny and regardless of the escalation the destruction will never reach that level. Gaza is ed regardless of outcome given the way both sides are handling it.

    tl;dr

Resettle the entire population of Gaza, take all the land.

(Say anonymous sources in Sheldon Adelson's newspaper.)

A new initiative submitted to the US Congress calls for conditioning American aid to Arab countries on their willingness to receive refugees from Gaza, Israel Hayom has learned.

I like how you do not include Hamas, their actions which are continuous to this day, and the role they play.

I am sure that the Israeli's are sitting in their meeting rooms Himler/Johnson style planning on the Trail of Tears style destruction of the Palestinian people.

As for the geopolitical situation, you are talking like this is still 1975. The Arabs are silent on this issue for a reason. Hamas is an Iranian proxy. The Saudis, Jordanians, and Egyptians all share the same issue.

If anything, they are on Israel's side in all this. The Egyptians are letting relief columns in but they are allowing ZERO refugees. Same for the rest of the Arab countries. Their silence is deafening to me.

This is a sign of a larger trend and a reason why Hamas freaked out. Sunni nations have been normalizing relations with Israel for the past couple of decades.

The only issue with Israeli interests is American leftist cancel culture responding to them like they did with police brutality and defund the police. Reactionary childishness.

Now you want it both ways. Are you concerned about the humanitarian situation for the Gazan people or are you more interested in your Jewish Sheldon Anderson congressional conspiracy to steal land?

Thhe reason I ask is because the very next paragraph after the one you quoted states:

"Israel is trying to keep civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip as low as possible, but Hamas is not allowing the refugees to leave and Egypt is unwilling to open its borders," the plan's authors write in the opening paragraph. They later go on to explain that "the only moral solution is to ensure that Egypt opens its borders and allows for the refugees to flee from the tyrant control of Hamas. The US Government provides Egypt with approximately $1.3 billion in foreign aid, and these funds can be allocated to the refugees from Gaza who will be allowed into Egypt."
They claim to have your interests.

It's not my conspiracy theory, it's a straight up article in Israel Hayom.

I don't see any contradiction between posting topically relevant articles and drawing attention to the annihilation of Gaza and the indiscriminate killing and displacement of its people.

Not sure what you infer my interests to be, but for sure I don't agree that carpet bombing and forcibly resettling ~2m people counts as humanitarian aid.

But as I pointed out the article doesn't state that. Quite the contrary as I quoted.

When the Israeli settlers start into Gaza let me know. Your insistence on conflating the issues is weird.

If you burn down your neighbors house and steal his land, his resettlement isn't a humanitarian outcome, it's the fruit of a crime.

Look, all this is speculative, but the scale of the destruction of housing, civil society and productive land in Gaza would seem to preclude any sizable return of the displaced.

What do you think is going to happen?

Again you gloss over the role of Hamas again. You cannot even consider it.

Gaza is tiny as we have discussed. Let refugees into Egypt, uncomplicate the human shield component of combat and most importantly make sure those refugees get food, water, and health care. Once Hamas has been deposed then to me the best thing is to help those people rebuild their homes.

Makes one wonder why Netanyahu made moves to support Hamas before all this happened.

It's different. Will the Israeli's allow their Sunni neighbors in setting up an administration? I don't know. If they do then there is a fair chance that the international groundswell of aid that is sure to come their way can actually help them rebuild.

I just know that having an Iranian proxy in control of a city state on their border is untenable. Look at what we did in response to 9/11. Lot more than 20k people or 100 sq mi of destruction we have seen here.

Either way, Netanyahu is unlikely to get elected again after this. His claim to fame was hostage rescue back in the 70s but he got caught with his pants down. The cherry is Brandon Ice Cream Eater brokering the ceasefire and a set of hostages that were released.

Then of course there is the million+ citizens understandably mass protesting his treatment of the judiciary.

    Hopefully, he is kaput.
