Pop benched the centers in the 2006 playoffs after Nazr Mohammed shot and hit a three pointer in garbage time against Sacramento. By the Mavs series, all three of them were DNP-CD. The Spurs should have threepeated. Just because they won two les doesn't make Pop's re ed coaching decisions less maddening. The second half of Timmy's career was such a waste.

As much as I want Pop to hang it up this team just lacks talent. Naz Reid would probably be the second/3 best player right now on the Spurs. Dudes like the 6 best player on his own team lmao. The right lineups will help some but at the end of this day this team lacks talent and athleticism. Spurs need a fresh new scouting staff as well as an overall different mindset when it comes to prospects.
Yeah, 33 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists shooting 86 percent from the field just isn't gonna cut it. What a colossal up.

And there's this. I agree, Pop had a big hand in losing in 2006. Same I think in 2008, but with benching Bowen. I don't know why he does this. When he was on, there was nobody better (2014) but when he makes these simply dumb coaching decisions that even us couch coaches can see, he's pretty freaking bad.

Nazr got put into the game in garbage time of a blowout, something he didn't deserve. He got a grenade passed to him with the shot clock winding down. Nibody told him to take the violation so he shot it. Who knew it would go in? Pop then called a timeout and chewed his ass, then threw Nazr under the bus to the press as a classless player, something he NEVER was in his career. Then he used that as an excuse to transition to smallball for the playoffs. He isn't any different today.

It'll be disappointing if Spurs don't make a trade this deadline. Yeah yeah, we say it all the time. But you have to start looking at forming a team. They should know what Wemby is and what is required. But more importantly make trades for better fits.

It's funny cause however bad we are this year that just means the leap we take next year has to be that much more cause I don't see how at the end of this season you tell Wemby "yeah we going to run it back with like 80% of the same roster" and he is like "thats great".
Imagine telling Wemby "you know that Keldon guy who never passes chunks everything goes through shooting slumps and plays no defense, well he will be on your team next year and the next year after that"
I feel bad for the obama coach who has to come in and clean up the george bush mess Pop has made. We are arguably in the middle of the greatest depression in spurs history. This team might legit break the all time loss record. We are easily that bad.
He's cost the Spurs so many games, so many playoff series, so many le chances. At some point you'd rather have a high school basketball coach who just calls timeouts and decides who shoots technicals.
