He needs to get up there fast before his body betrays him.
I don’t understand this. If he can actually do this, I’d be wrong and he’d be Lebron level of durable. Unlikely though.

I watched the game. It was an FULL ankle roll, and on the bench, everyone’s eyes got REAL big. He got a hand up, and trotted down the court like nothing. His personal trainer is a magician.
Best of wishes for him. Seems to be made of rubber
Before the draft there was a video or do entary type video out on the internet about wembys years-long training/stretching/sleeping/nutritional/ regimen
the dude has been preparing for years and his mom was a pro athlete and there is an entire staff surrounding him - some he brought from france -
that makes sure he stays on this program - AT WEMBYS REQUEST!
Sean Elliot mentioned something about vw asking questions about the best ways to sleep and get enough sleep on road trips and related stuff
then the video showed him stretching and bending his long frame like a ing pretzel -
just impressive - reminded me of manu when he would do his stretching and balancing on some ball or rolling device...
Really cool
At losing
It is so strange to me how I don't even bat an eye when Wemby blocks a shot by a 7-footer, maintains control of the ball and leads the break the other direction.
That is such a rare play to behold. Bill Russell, Wilt, Walton would do it once in a while. How am I already conditioned to this insane play by a 19yr old rookie?
I truly think he was mostly underestimated coming into the NBA.
Sermon over, nothing to see here.
So, is it a block? a steal ? both ?
How is it counted in the stat sheet ?
He might have made at least a dozen of these since the start of the season... Amazing indeed !
hilarious how people have Chet above him in the ROY rankings at this point. Wemby has a target on his back due to the hype train so i'm not entirely surprised. Chet winning would be like Kessler winning last year instead of Banchero. and that skinny isn't even an actual rookie
swap places and the Thunder might actually be the le favorites. Chet is good, but he is not on Wemby's level imo
To your point:
You can stretch your ankles. There's a guy on YouTube who does flexibility exercises for it. In five or ten years every NBA player will do them.
No way
I'm into women, but they aren't into me.
lol
That's an old 50yrs plus thing.
But you would not know that go figure
AAbsoposi inglutely.
Poland lecturing others on training whilst Wemby "no muscle no rebounds" has yet another world class performance![]()
Yeah. You're so smart.
well, maybe that's a foolish take, but i sometimes find that the block stat is kind of meaningless or at least overvalued.
not only because of course, you can alter a shot without blocking it, but that's the case with most stats, they don't tell the whole story.
but also, if you block a shot but you send it out of the court, the opposing team still has the ball. so well, cool, you've made a good defensive play, but it's not really different than a quick lateral movement by a defender preventing a drive or when you block a passing lane forcing the opposing team to reset the play.
when you actually block it and manage to steal the ball or send it to a teamate, that's a different story; not only you gain the possession but you allow a fastbreak, like most steals.
so, why not suppressing the block stat and counting such a block as a steal (the ones like victor often does, keeping the ball in his hands or sending it to a teamate) and not putting on the stat sheet the others ones, those whose don't allow to regain the possession of the ball ?
anyway, victor is really impressive in that aspect: i don't remember a lot of players doing as many blocks like this, literally stealing the ball in this air.
Impressive, but honestly all these stats are distorted a bc of the 3pt shot.
Imagine if Victor was playing 10 more min on average the numbers he'd have
I know.
It's surprising that someone that watches basketball do not know anything about prep or the game... And youve got over 40k posts here?
In 90s coaches were using that pretty much. And I was told to do that when I rolled mine.
That tactic has pluses and minuses. But why to educate here when the level of knowledge is so low![]()
If you get one post right I might consider your IQ surpassed 80.
Never happened though
