Pop is such a disgrace and would be getting blasted if he were black.

You could see this coming a mile away and yet the only adjustment was going zone for a couple of possessions.

They weren't going to win this game either way, so the goal should have been avoiding embarrassment.
People were asking to fire pop both from this group and outside for. While now. Why bring in race card?

Darn, normally I'd be happy with Victor's game as it looks like he rose to the occasion, but then I see Embiid's performance and he scored double. Wow. Who was guarding him? Was he ever double teamed? Did he get a lot of soft BS calls for those 23 free throws, or were they earned?

Victor got in foul trouble early, so no chance of guarding Embiid afterwards. Doubleteams if occuring were very soft ...

Pretty much highlights what so many have been saying all along...we need a big defender. More than even a PG, imho. Tho, we need both. TRE has been doing pretty well, more on the lines of Avery, the General. I've been pretty impressed lately with him.

This teams #1 and #2 goals...are defense and rebounding. Then shooting and passing and...every other f'king thing. lol

Collins And Branham Are The Two Biggest Causes For All Our Losses Tbh

A Center Is Supposed To Be Your Last Line Of Defense. If There’s No Wall There, The Offense Gets Anything It Wants. That’s What Collins Is.

Branham Is The First Line Of Defense. Everybody Goes Past Him And He Is Way Too Passive On Offense.

Watch the game. Embiid scored about 40 points pushing, charging and running over people. The refs looked they were calling a globetrotter game. This game was a gift from the NBA and nothing special.

lol all the cliff jumping over a 10 point loss against one of the best teams in the league, all because the reigning mvp got 70 points. Who cares? The spurs lost a game we all expected them to lose and embiid had a great game. Kudos to him, love and learn, etc.

Wow! This sort of stuff has happened a lot already this season. I love to see the fire in Wemby and the desire to be out there and mix it with the best. And yes I really hope Pop doesn't stay here too many years or we may lose Wemby when he's a FA. I know no player says negative about Pop in press conferences cause Pop is the so called greatest and it's a cardinal sin to say anything negative about him but actions speak louder than words. And barely half way through his rookie season his on court actions are suggesting he's a bit over Pop already, despite what he says

I know we all want to see Wemby play and I appreciate his fire, but Pop's job as a coach is to have authority over the team and protect Wemby from himself.

If Wemby is still on his minutes restriction (we haven't heard otherwise), then he still went past it last night playing 28 minutes. Pop is letting him stretch it, but no coach is going to let a rookie player come in and start calling the shots in his first year...even Wemby. If Victor has a problem about that, its not a good look for him.

Whether you agree with him or not, Pop still has to maintain control of the entire bench. Tim Duncan was lauded because he let Pop coach him. Wemby needs to let him do the same thing.

As much as I'm annoyed by a lot of Pop's decisons, I beleive him when he says that he feels a responsability towards Victor.

Intent matters, Wemby won't hold any grudge even if he disagrees

Lmao I remember when Timmy tried to check himself back into the game and Pop pushed him back down on the bench. Man, I miss seeing Timmy play.

he just made like twenty long jumpers, mostly guarded.. think he missed like 3. i don't think he got a fouled hard even once and he was often pulling wemby early on. Good on him for not missing, but it was not on us.. exception are some rebounds .

I'm surprised after years of suck, people are still on Pop's Bandwagon. We all knew what needed to be done at the beginning of the season. It
took POP half a season of criticism to see what we all saw from the beginning. I have never liked Pop, no secret. But, there are too many that suck up to him. Way too many.

You can't play defense anymore in the NBA. And you can't criticize Pop in the NBA either. This game ain't what it was...

Man if only Timmy slapped old man Pop late in game 6 2013 finals we just may have got that defensive stop or defensive rebound and won the championship. Maybe, maybe not. Yes ill never forgive Pop for his abysmal coaching display late in those finals. He literally thought the LBJ, DWade, Bosh, Allen, Battier, Spoelstra defending champion Heat were just gonna throw in the towel in a close out finals game. And yes most of you do forgive him because we won in 2014 but trust me if there was a major injury or two before the 2014 play-offs which would have rendered our championship hopes futile not even the biggest popsucker would be forgiving him. One of the biggest coaching blunders of all time which doesn't get do ented often often. What was he doing? Resting TD for the off-season?

You're all aware we have something like a pathetic 300 win and 350 loss record in Pops coaching seasons without Duncan masking his coaching deficiencies. I love to see young Wembanyama showing the fire and passion needed to be an all timer.

And yes i know there's people in here saying 'wow you're lucky Wemby still has 2 legs or you're lucky Wemby isn't injured' thats just bull Popsucker talk. Injuries are part of sport which may or may not happen. You can't wrap a player in bandages and cotton wool all his career.

Would be interesting if Wemby had the balls to talk to ownership and say he doesn't agree with the coaching style. Would ownership side with the 80 year old overrated declining coach with early stages of dementia or the young guy who has true historic potential?

that's why the team immediately looked better once both got injured and were replaced by Barlow and Wesley

10 years? lol. Spurs were a playoff team in 2019. they made the play-in the year after. They were in the WCF in 2017 when they were Zaza’d.
