Depends on how they judge it. A tough C&S 3 for Strus probably isn't as tough for someone 7'5. Victor can shoot over just about anyone, so if the defender is right on him, it's not really going to alter his shot. he's just not a knock down 3pt shooter. His shot is fluid and release is smooth, good arch and rotation. Because of this and his height, he's considered a 3pt threat when really teams should just let him shoot until his % gets to 30 or so. Just because not many 7'5 guys can shoot the 3 smoothly doesn't mean Victor is a thread just because he can. There are other NBA players who have a good shot release and rotation, can't hit at a high enough rate to make them a threat.

They've masterfully calculated the amount of time he can play while maintaining bottom 3

If we could play the Rockets every game, probably.

Dejounte that Sixers' defensive strategy is why we need to surround Wemby with real shooters, tbh.

So that’s a no? Doesn’t sound so generational.

Outrageous hating at this point, mentioning Chet in this and not bringing up Victor is wild.

LOL tanking for three years and all they get out if it is Jalen Green, Jabari Smith, and Amen Thompson. I would have been mad as at Wemby cheering when my team got pick #4 after that too.

God damn, remembering that draft will never stop being delicious. That fist bump from Victor said it all... Generational talent going to his favorite team, a match made in heaven

Last night against Portland, Victor passed Greg Anderson to become 3rd for most blocks by a rookie in Spurs history:

    1. David Robinson: 319 blocks in 82 games, 3002 minutes (89/90)
    2. Tim Duncan: 206 blocks in 82 games, 3204 minutes (97/98)
    3. Victor Wembanyama: 123 blocks in 39 games, 1111 minutes (23/24)
    4. Greg Anderson: 122 blocks in 82 games, 1984 minutes (87/88)

He's not gonna catch Dave because he's not gonna play 3000 minutes, but he's on pace to beat Timmy.

    Robinson block % rookie/career: 6.5/5.7
    Duncan block % rookie/career: 4.5/4.6
    Wembanyama block % rookie: 9.5

He's basically at a level that only mid - late 80s Bol was clearly higher than and is probably comparable since moving to C, despite being in an era with far greater spacing.

It's absolutely nuts that we've had the two guys with best defensive rating in the 3-point era (TD and 50) but this dude might actually be better than both of them.

Let's see how he develops in the direction of being one of the greatest at shot blocking. If he will be better at positioning on D we might see him blocking 4 a game next season.

He already filled his biggest holes to a acceptable degree.
In a half a season he made some nice progressions.
