Now that is a legit great win right there!
That Zollins extension is looking comical considering how much better we play without him.
Now that is a legit great win right there!
I was just thinking...we easily lose this game if he played. Barlow made a few shots and was compe ive on defense. Collins would have gotten stuffed in the basket all game long by Gobert and Towns and then shot 2 - 14 from the field and 0 for 7 on open 3s
Sochan deserves an A+ grade for that stretch alone. Put the offense on his back when Wemby was out.
Soon as Victor started playing center tbh
Barlow needs to have all ZOLLINS minutes, I don't care about pop's stupid pecking order. The kid has earned it and he is the better player
It's too bad those suckers in Philly injured Tre. Would have liked to have seen a more competent Spur squad against the Thunder. Tre is probably our 2nd most impactful player after Wemby.
Yes the Spurs couldn't ended up just a few games under the playoffs and several above the lottery.
Wolves are potentially going to go into a tailspin after this and need to right the ship fast. First losing to the hornets after towns goes for 60+ and now the spurs in what should be a bounce back game.
That and Tre running the show.
That was probably the best Spurs win of the season imho
It’s wild how much they depend on an agin Mike Conley
Welp, we can’t lose em all LOL
What a game. Something so cool seeing Wemby + Sochan + Dev + Keldon on the floor in crunch time in a game that matters gut one out
Several thoughts after this one:
For once I saw defense from our guys!
It helps that Pop finally remembered to throw a double team at a hot player before it was too late.
About damn time.
ANT man could have cooked us if left to his own devices.
Barlow >> Collins right now and it isn't even close, especially on defense.
Barlow played active defense, got switched onto good players, and didn't just turnstile that situation.
His offense was a bonus.
I want to see more.
Sochan! The kid is really starting to show something and giving me reason to get excited about his future.
His 4th quarter was so good.
He's only 20 years old.
I'm convinced that Vassell could be a really nice 3rd option on a good team.
On a good team he could learn to take fewer tough shots and let good teammates open up the floor for him.
Man some of y'all wouldn't enjoy eating ice cream with the family unless someone pissed in your bowl first.
Shows what we’re capable of when everyone is firing on all cylinders and Collins doesn’t play
Barlow can ball showed it with the Austin spurs!
hey OP feel free to start more game threads my friend!
Really? Because the last time Collins played the TWolves he had 12 points and 8 rebounds. He had 11 points against the Twolves the first time he played them this season. I like Barlow, but some of the Collin takes are just plain bad. He's had a few bad games since coming back from an injury, but he's had really good games this year too. Again, I wonder sometimes why fans don't actually cheer and support their players instead of tearing them down and rooting against them.
This game a great example of why we should start making serious moves for progress this summer, not just slow roll our way to being good by adding draft picks. Since we started Tre, we've been a league average team. Imagine adding a couple of legit NBA-caliber starting players and 1 or 2 lottery picks to this team.
It's simple addition by subtraction with him. I'm sure you noticed it during his recent time out but you can't help it and also can't help wipe his of your eyes.
When Relying On Counting Stats Goes Wrong.
Let’s Hope Other Gms Fall For Those Counting Stats.
In The Same Manner Vic’s Presence Deters Shots Doesn’t Appear On The Box Score, Collins Has Such A Negative Impact On The Floor That Can’t Be Seen In Stats.
That's funny because you are adopting the argument that every talking head NBA guy says on why Wemby shouldn't be rookie of the year. And the take was that Collins would have been 2-14 and missed all his threes. Now, we don't know how he would have played in this game, but based on what he did against the Twolves the last two times, the take is just player-hate bias. I see all the Sochan and Collins hate and it helps to show who the real fans are and who are the ones that hate on anyone not named Wemby.
